I was never an avid viewer of the show, but I know many did enjoy it, so I thought you'd like to know if you didn't already.

This just in from AOL news.

NBC, struggling to regain its footing after the worst season in its history, also outlined several midseason schedule changes - including the moves of popular dramas "Law & Order" and "Las Vegas."

"The West Wing" announcement wasn't much of a surprise. Although this season's story line with a presidential campaign involving a Democrat played by Jimmy Smits and Republican portrayed by Alan Alda has been strong critically, ratings have sunk with its move to Sunday nights.

The decision to cancel it was made before actor John Spencer, who played former presidential chief of staff Leo McGarry, died of a heart attack Dec. 16, said Kevin Reilly, NBC entertainment president.

"There's a point when you look at the ratings and say, it feels like it's time," Reilly said.

The series finale will be May 14, preceded by a one-hour retrospective. The campaign to replace the fictional Josiah Bartlet as president will be settled, NBC said.

Producers Aaron Sorkin and Thomas Schlamme, who created the show and guided it through its early years, will not be involved in the finale, Reilly said.

"The West Wing" won four Emmy Awards for best television drama in a row for its tales of political intrigue. At its prime, it also offered NBC two valuable benefits: critical acclaim and the most upscale audience on television, an important drawing point for advertisers.

NBC's revamped schedule offered veteran "Law & Order" producer Dick Wolf good and bad news. NBC is putting Wolf's new drama "Conviction," about young prosecutors in New York, on Friday's schedule starting March 3. But it is moving "Law & Order" up an hour to Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET - competing directly with ABC's blockbuster "Lost."

NBC is also moving "Las Vegas" from Monday to Friday starting in March. Donald Trump is changing addresses again, with "The Apprentice" moving to Monday where it will be preceded by the Howie Mandel-hosted game show "Deal or No Deal."

The network has two more midseason shows: "Heist," a cops-and-robbers drama from the director of "Mr. & Mrs. Smith," and "Teachers," a comedy about a high school English teacher.

"The Office" will go off the air at the end of March so star Steve Carell can film a movie, Reilly said. He said he also hasn't figured out what to do with the ill-fated "Friends" spinoff "Joey," which has 12 new episodes done but no place on the schedule.

"NBC is stable and our vital signs are encouraging," Reilly said. "Most predictions were that we were going to go from bad to worse this year, and that hasn't happened."

The last time I saw Howie on one of the wife's celebrity poker shows, he had shaved his head bald and refused to take off his surgical gloves to handle the cards.

And it didn't seem to be a "bit" either.

Uh Not so fast Y3- I herd just yesterday CAC got Impeached as well. For the best though,I don't think Geena Davis has been hot Since "The Fly" 1986 lol Okay well Maybe Bettlejuice But AS SOON AS THE HAIRSTYLE CHANGED,So did the Looks! lol
Hey Seriously, Bugs, Any idea Which "Law & Order" is getting Moved? The Only one we Really have fun watching is L&L:Criminal Intent. It's just Fun to see Vincent D. Doing ALL the Investigating work that would usually be delagated to an entire Team of Specialists! lol I seen Goren Decipher Code,Ballistics Testing AND STILL have time to Show the Medical Examiner how to Correctly Inspect in a Murder Victim's Mouth! :drunk: They've already been letting Chris Noth and another Broad Have some of the Episodes, I just don't like Him. Nuthing aginist Mr. Noth I just don't care for his chacter. Ah Well Just so they don't mess around with My Honey Jill Hennesy and her Series "Crossing Jordan" lol

Great Las Vegas moving to Friday. Now I have to tape it, or tape a Stargate. And Fox is moving "Bones" to a suicide spot opposite "Lost" so I have to tape one of them. The schedule worked so good for me so far! nothing I watched was on opposite anything else I watched. Damn these executive types!

If, by "impeached", you mean the show, C-in-C, has been cancelled, I haven't seen any official word that the show has cancelled.
Even though ratings have been steadily falling since its premiere

I don't think it's been officially cancelled especially since only half of its full season order of 22 episodes have been aired.
Hey Seriously, Bugs, Any idea Which "Law & Order" is getting Moved?
The original L&O is moving from Wed 10pm to Wed 9pm to face "Lost".

D'Onofrio can't handle a full season of eps.
He was hopitalized last year for "exhaustion" so that's why Noth and Sciorra now alternate eps with D'Onofrio and Erbe.

This Is True! or Bravo lol Btw,That Howie Mandell Show "Deal Or No Deal" is pretty Entertaining for a few minutes. The Primise works off the Fact that most people are inherintly Greedy,So like "Let's Make A Deal" He Give's you a choice of These 20 Briefcases Each one containing between One and A MILLION Dollars! You are given One Briefcase,You do NOT know the Dollar Amount in Your Case either. So you start Randomly Picking Cases each time Th amount is revealed inside You be given a chance to Sell the Case YOU were given OR put Faith in the Fact that the Million Bucks is IN THERE not in one of the Twenty Cases. After every so many turns this Mysterious "Banker" will Call Howie raising the Offer to buy Your Case back So Do You take the money and run or play on,Possibly leaving with Nuthin? Hence the title Deal Or No Deal. lol NBC played it every night for a week last month,It was fun the first couple of shows but I dunno, we just kinda got sick of it.I actually prefer to watch "Sabato Gigante" on Univision cause then I get Hot Girls ,A Gameshow AND I learn my Spanish!

I'm kind of surpised CiC got cancelled (I haven't actually seen a press release on this though). I was under the impression ABC was trying to make it into one of their prestige shows like Lost and DH....I didn't think the ratings were that bad either.

John, doesn't the Scifi shows rerun later in the night and then again later in the week?

And Deal or No Deal is one of those shows that will get old QUICK. I actually enjoyed it when it was on, but it's got the same exact problem that Millionaire had: it is tedious to the extreme. Millionaire quickly became interminable, waiting for contestants to answer or make a decision, and DoND is playing up this same angle, even bringing in family to consult. Ugh...game shows need a quick pace or I can't watch them for long.

the thing that confuses me is that i was under the impression that the west wing was ending its run at the end of this season anyway.

what will be really amusing is that once the networks pull the timeslot shuffle, they'll be all confused about the ratings drop.

and from all reports, d'onfrio is extremly diffucult to work with, and if he werent so popular in the role, he'd be gone and noth in his place entirely.
