i just bought the new spektrum telemetry system. when i hook up the voltage wires to my battery, [electric car] get a reading of 3.32 volts. this is with a 4 cell pack. owners manual does not show how the wires are supposed to go.
i called horizon help and a young gentleman told me to try pluging it either way
it can't hurt system. how can i read battery voltage?
any help? thanks, willis.

You dont have to use the extra sensor wires and solder them to the battery to get a voltage reading. The unit picks up the voltage and displays it automatically. The extra sensor wires are in case you want to monitor a different voltage source.

My pic's might help you some...

Is the battery fully charged? If it's dead, it might have a reading that low ...

marauder,
the manual says that the 3 wire harness will give me receiver voltage, but to use the other harness to get the drive battery voltage.
jph racing,
it gives me the same 3.31 voltage readings from any of my 5.35 or better
4 cell packs, this with a digatal volt meter. after posting this, i called horizon again. the tech walked me through my set up. told me to send the telemerty
unit back to be checked. i'll just have to wait and see.
thanks for answering, willis.

What is the best way to connect the telemetry unit when using a receiver pack, I have no empty place in my receiver to plug the telemetry unit. Do I need to used some kind of "Y" harness.

Yes, per Spektrum support you'll have to use a "Y" harness. JR makes a heavy duty one... I ordered mine through Horizon.
