Just a few comments , not all batteries are created equal !
If you want the most honest #'s in the industry then this is your source.
I've tried several diff matchers and always come back to Pro-match for the best match and performance.

Contact Jeff and he'll be glad to answer all your questions and give you incredible service!
You can't have the cheapest price and still give the best product, but here you get a great product at a very fair price.

No, I don't work for them , just a huge fan.

Every Battery has tested the same or better than the label !!

Factory assembled is a huge plus !

Nip, 30 amp discharge does not cut it.

Just because they have 30 amp labels really doesn't matter.

I test all my cells or packs at 35 and most of these perform better than a pack with actual 35 a labels.

30 amps linier still weeds out the weak cells !!

I bought a 1.208 at 35 pack and it tested much worse than a PRO-MATCH 1.212 at 30 pack.

Numbers game again !!! , anybody can print a label , tests results are the ONLY thing that matters.

30-35 amp discharge doesn't really matter, either way will work fine and give you good cells.

Nip, 30 amp discharge does not cut it.

When somebody says this is just kills me. The funny thing is that when everybody was matching at 20 amps that was THE way to do it. Then once 25 amp matching came along, THAT was THE way to do it, 20 wasn't any good. Same for 30, 25 wasn't any good. Now it's the same with 35. Give it a couple years and 35 won't be any good as they've moved on to 40. People are like lemmings. If a "certain" matcher says it's the best they just follow right along with it. I'll have to agree with a local matcher that told me "basically" that the ONLY benefit to matching at a higher amp draw is to speed through the matching process. You can match more batteries because you can discharge them quicker. Sounds about right huh?

Ovalman ,

I agree with you 100 % , faster chg time and faster disc equals more batteries cycled !!

Even Competition Electronics doesn't recomment running their turbo- matchers at full tilt " 35 amp" and will say that you may not get consistent results because of the contact area is pretty much maxed out.

Buy Pro-Match and you won't be sorry.

Rodney S.

Yes , Jeff has experimented with 35 amp rates but the results were so inconsistent that it wasn't worth the effort.

A good friend of mine (sponsored by Pro-Match) got me hooked on these cells about a year ago and I haven't bought anything else since then. They are the best cells I've ever tried, and I've tried at least a pack or two of all the major brands. Thanks Jeff @ Pro-Match and keep up the great work!

20-35 amp all the same.... If you stop and think about it you actually get a CLOSER match low lower the amps, the lower you go on amps the more spread out your numbers get therefor the closer the cells will actually be....

Every matcher is diffrent quick example

SMC- label 1.208@35 cycles 4.77@35
ProMatch- label 1.213@30 cycles 4.77@35
World Class- label 1.207@30 cycles 4.77@35

All 3 packs ran AWSOME on the track.

I respect all 3 matchers They all have super customer service and they all will take the time to help you. Which is a great attribute, there is no reason to bash a matcher that matches @30 because there is NO diffrence in quality

I called they are all out of the 1600 cells I guess GP isnot making them anymore. Maybe that is why they are hard to find right now.......

I've been using promatch batteries since 1997. I have seen higher numbers that my freinds have and even tried them to see if there is a difference but never seemed to see anything. The customer service from Jeff and the crew are great. Keep up the great work.

Thanks Fireball ,

Someone may print a higher label but your not gong to find a better performing cell than what Jeff offers. period !
These 35 amps numbers are quite skewed and inconsistent.

Latemodel100: Since Trinity had to find another company to produce 1600 mah cells I'm pretty sure ProMatch has to follow if they wanna offer some spec packs as well with same numbers.

Have been for quite some time now. They are also doing 4200s or is that what you really ment to say? :)

Edit: My bad, should read closer. :o I thought that said "IB" 3800s. To many cells with "I" at the beginning now. They are matching IB38 and 4200s and IP3800s.

What are the advantages/disadvantages of IPs compared to IBs?

Tommygun43
01-31-2006, 01:22 PM
You can find the answer for that by going to "search" at the top and put in IP then IB. Both brands have a couple threads. It would just turn into a huge argument if you discussed that here.

LATEMODEL 100 ,

Your very accurate with that statement as I've seen competitors labels all "say" the same #'s, which you'd assume would be a perfect match and they were so far off it wasn't funny.
Jeff's labels are probably the most honest you can buy and I applaud him for that.
Yes , both Erica and Jeff are very pleasant to talk to.
Attitude is everything in todays market.

Ran ib3800's in 4-cell stock this week-end. All I can say is WOW!!!

I ran Pro-Match a couple of years ago and then got away from them (still don't know why) stupid on my part.
Bought 3 packs of 6-cell for my dirt oval car last month and was impressed. So then I purchased 3 4-cell packs for my Stocker. Dirt Oval car is for playing. Little more serious with the Stocker, Car was really fast I definatly picked up a tenth or two with these packs.
The on line site is easy to order off of, My cells came quickly (on a Saturday!!!!)
Came with shrinks, decals, and a facts, instruction sheet.

Thanks for a great product

I ran 6 cell 3300's matched by Pro-Match....can u say longevity??? I bought these packs from RJ's Hobby Shop in Indianapolis Indiana about 3 years ago. Grant you 2 packs finally peetered out last year....but I still have one pack out of that bunch that still hasn't lost its punch.....

I used these cells in 6 cell stock before it died out...here is the kicker though....these cells labels read directly from Jeff's matchers at 410 seconds 1.169 voltage....but after about 5 cycles...they cycled out higher than label said.....

Now I can't say that the same results would happen now with these new cells....but in past experiences with other matchers batts not performing well, I wouldn't hesitate to run Jeff's stuff again for 4 cell stock.....

Casey...when you talk to Jeff...tell him I will be in touch with him before summer hits us....

My one concern is what's up with dropping the GP3700 cells? Some of us are still leery of these dang IBs (yea I know I gotta get over it but haven't yet :) ).

You gotta be kiddin,by now the IB's have proven to be the superior battery,if your not runnin'em your behind, wayyyy behind.

OvalmanPA
03-17-2006, 08:02 PM
Will they be running the same in a few months? I'm the kind of guy that sticks with a pack for a year or more and since these haven't been around that long we don't really know what they'll do. Besides that it's kind of been a known issue that they REALLY don't like heat. A local matcher lost quite a few cells when they first became available. From the sounds of it they are better but I'm still leery.

Rick,

I learned last year about sticking with batteries for a long period of time like your talking about, this year I'm buying fresh packs for every big event I go to,I was down on power a lot the last half of the outdoor season last year because I stuck with packs for the whole season, not again this year!

I guess if I went to a lot of big events then maybe I'd do the same but for local racing, let's just say I'm "frugal". :)

Thanks Jeff and Erika ,

Service and great products that can't be beat !!!!!!!!!

I just got a killer 4200 pack from them for a 100 lap race we have coming up and I much appreciate the numbers you sent me.

The IB cell has proven to be a great cell and GP has fallen way behind in the racing world, even their 4300 cell is only rated for 4100 mah.

Watch that on all batterys you buy , I noticed some AA rechargables at a local store said 2500 on the label but in fine print said 2100 mah average, marketing at its worst.

Nothing wrong with being frugal, but frugal in racing equals slow.

OvalmanPA
03-19-2006, 11:08 PM
Not necassarily.............locally it seems pretty spread on the GP3700/IB3800 front. It seems like either can run with the other on any given day. And besides that, I'm frugal so I'm slow? Comeon........... $$$ can't buy you experience and skill, only time and study can bring you that.
