How much do you pay to race at your local track each week? Just curious what other tracks charge.

Our track went from $12 to $15 this year.

I get there at 11:00 AM and leave at midnight sometimes.
I would pay $20 if I had to.

Eric, I agree, to be at the track all day a couple more bucks isn't going to kill us. the most by us is $15.00 and with not enough tracks around to race that doesn't seem too bad.

Our local track charges $13 for the first class and $7 for the second class. Inexpensive fun any way you look at it.

$8 first class and $4 each class after...... I don't mind paying more to race, as long as SOME of the money goes back into the TRACK, for carpet cleaning and general upkeep of the track. When I start paying more and there are rips and tears down to the floor, I'm done!!!!

I get to the track around 3 and don't get done until midnight... been $10 for quite some time. Support the hobbyshop and fees won't have to go up

The funny thing is the only people that really ever complain when prices go up are the one's that Don't buy/support the track any other way....

Price also depeands on length of racing, I know some places only race 2 heats and a main, and some run 3 and a main......

Our track is $10 for the first class and $5 for each additional class. They offer a Sportmen / beginner class and that is $5 all of the time. I can't really remember but I think it's the same price I use to pay back when I raced the firsted time in 1985 - 92. I personally feel it would still be pretty inexpensive fun at twice the price.

$10 on race nite but its free to practice anytime during the week. Due to the recent raping of heating costs, the track owner had thought about raising the fee to $15, but he says as long as attendence stays up and the hobby shop sales stay up, he'll keep it at $10.

It has been 15 at the good tracks here for many years. I dont think it is expensive at all. where else can you go an have fun for 12 hours or so for 15 bucks?? Thats a buck 25 an hour..Tracks dont make money on entry fees.. that money goes to maintinance, trophies, ELECTRICITY,HEAT,AC, and many of the other nice things a facility offers.. most tracks here make money or connsessions (sp)..Id pay 20 if i had to i know our facility cost money to run.. here is a pic.

I drive to Fairfield Maine which is 160 miles from my house and I get to the track at 1:00pm and practice till racing starts at 7:00 pm and out by 10:15pm and drive 160 miles back home..So 12.00 is a drop in the hat for me..

I drive over 100 miles each way to run, $10 for the first class and $8 for the second with paybacks for the top guys. Plus they put $1 into a prize fund for each entry for their open house once a year.

i know one thing you cant race with out a track so it dont matter to me if it is 5 or 25 dollars and i think fees are based on how many people you have show up week to week.the place i race at (rush&son) have very nice place carpet and crete both lit up better than most ballfelids and that takes cash and u cant expect a track owner to go in the hole on a juice bill to many times.so what every it takes is worth it to me.

15 bucks is a drop in the bucket when it takes 60 bucks in gas to get to closest trackand back home but it beats racing touring cars right down the street

Most of the tracks in my area are $15. Considering all the costs involved in building, operating and maintaining a track thats a real bargin.

Burbs is right. The tracks don't make their money on entry fees, they make their money on food and parts at the track if they sell them. So if you want to keep your local track alive, have them stock some of the basic parts and make sure that you support them. I try to buy as much from the track as possible. Fees are $15 on a normal week, $20 for special races. Not expensive at all for a whole day of fun.

it shouldn't matter how much it cost to race on a weekly basis, if you dont support the race facility it just wont be there anymore! then your going to get in you car and drive 265 miles in one day to race a car that you have 1,000.00 bucks invested racing for a three dollar bowling trophy, but if its your passion then you'll do what ya gotta do. right now we travel 3 1/2 to 4 hrs every weekend because the big city here couldnt support a race facility.

All of the indoor carpet tracks have closed locally but we drive 260-270 miles to the closet one. There entry fees are 20.00 & I'm glad to pay it for the quality facility & the level of racers that attend weekly. As another person posted if we don't support our local tracks & LHS we will be driving like I am now. I buy as much as possible from our tracks Hobby shop & hope others will follow.

You should be lucky to either have a local track or one that is fairly near by there home. Some people dont have access to tracks. This hobby is by no means cheap, from the track to the tires you put on your car it is expensive-either way you look at it, if your not prepared to spend some money every week, month year etc.. dont bother racing or running a track. My local track is run inside a highschool. It consists of rolling it out -taping it to the floor and roll it back up at the end of the night. All racers are charged 10 bucks to race. The racers are the ones who roll it out and rull it up. We just want to have a place to race, and any help we can give ables us to have a place to have fun.chat and race. We are lucky even if we have to do all that work, or it could be nothing. Who cares about little tares, again its a place to have a good time. After all the carpet was paid by somone, the transponder system is expensive and the rent for the night is not that cheap either. Now if it was 25 or 30 a week, well then thats a problem, those fees better come with some free stuff or good prizes, because thats crazy.

We pay $10 to race at the HobbyPlex in Omaha, NE, 3 heats and a main plus it is one of the best race facilities around. As a bonus they pay back gift certificates for the hobbyshop as points prizes. It doesn't get any better than that.

One thing for sure and jimmy24 already commented on this and that is support you local track or it will not be there. Omaha is a great value and regardless of what it costs to race there I would still drive the 120 miles each way on the weekend to support it. Also as a former track owner I would recomment being gracious and patient with those who run the track, it takes a lot of work.
