please refer to my comment at the Slot Car Modeling/Customizing section in the 'projects and a prize' thread:
''as for my chassis Tom Lowe had it looked at by his factory. There has been a futher development but I'm not allowed to clarify.
Sorry to be so mysterious on everything''

Isn't Tom's career grounded in tapping into the lucrative nostalgia market? Offering up a modern magnet car chassis would be a radical departure for him and I'd wonder why he'd be venturing off into areas that don't play to his strengths. Is taking business away from the low end of the Tomy lineup and throwaway LL cars and sets worth more than catering to the needs of deep pocket buyers who are willing to pay a modest premium for a reproduction of something that they missed out on when it went for $300 E-bay auction? I'm not knocking anyones chassis, just wondering why there would be a departure from the tried and true TL Path to Success ...
JL name --> nostalgia market
JL diecast --> nostalgia market
JL pullbacks --> nostalgia market
JL TJets --> nostalgia market
JL X-Tractions --> nostalgia market
Auto World name --> nostalgia market
Producing a modern magnet car chassis --> ???

I wouldn't imagine he would abandon anything, but there is nothing to stop him doing something new as well so maybe he thinks he can be more than a one trick Pony.
I'm not privy to his thinking and I don't want to to attract the people who are convinced I am to this thread.

Montoya1, I just hope that you end up with a dancing partner that's as dedicated to racing as you are. Supporting a race oriented product requires a lot more ongoing support than a display case beauty queen needs. It's not a "sell it and forget it" proposition. New shoes and fresh rubber won't keep the racers racing and nobody needs exotic magnets for a case car. Turbo parts compatibility would be a big plus, but that's just the tip of the iceberg. I hope everything works out to your advantage.
