View Full Version : Midwest Carpet Oval Championship March 18-19
Danny B 01-12-2006, 01:18 AM The IROAR R/C Club will again be hosting a huge flat carpet oval race the Third weekend in March.
The race will be bigger and better than ever.
Watch for updates in the coming days and weeks!
Very soon a pre-entry form will be available. I want to get as many people pre-entered as possible. We have room for 100 racers(last year 88 racers, 133 entries)
Two big things for this year:
we will be re-working the power in the building so we can accomidate everyone
We will also be providing everyone with a table and chairs. You will not need to bring your own.
Those are just a couple things in store.
Check this thread often as well as the club website for updates and announcements.

Danny B 01-30-2006, 04:33 PM Unfortunately, we won't be able to get into the building until 9pm Friday night. I want to get everything set-up Friday night and i could probably be talked into running a little practice Friday night.
Because of this, we are going stretch practice out on Saturday and have two possible scenarios A) run 3 quals on saturday and be there late with a little more practice on Sunday morning or B) run 2 quals on Saturday with a little practice after then start early on Sunday and run 2 more then the mains.
Either way we would be done about the same time on Sunday.
We are going to have something new this year. If you have a laptop with wireless capability you will be able to access the race screen and race results and standings from your pit! We test drove it yesterday and it worked great.
We've got a good start on the pre-entries THANK YOU and keep them coming!
So in option B there would be no practice Sunday morning and we start at what time then? Like 8 or 9 with the first race? Just curious. Either way is fine with me. I want to go up Friday and get all setup and then have a little fun and maybe run a pack if you open it up. I would like to get done early Saturday so they is more time for extracurricular activities, without the sacrafice of making everyone stay late Sunday because I know people will travel from long distances to come race with us.
Danny B 01-30-2006, 06:44 PM There would still be some practice sunday morning, just not as much.
The Jet 01-30-2006, 07:10 PM I would like to get done early Saturday so they is more time for extracurricular activities,
I'm all for this  Get some food and drink :freak: without staying out untill 4 AM. Because the food and drink WILL happen, it's just a matter of getting back to the hotel  .
See you in March.
OPEN 19 turn.
OPEN modified.
Later, Bret
MK Race 01-30-2006, 07:23 PM The Jet is going to be there? Alright, haven't seen you since Kranzel's.
I'm in for 4300 brushless and maybe stock.
Danny I vote for option A, just thinking that most of the out-of-towners probably don't have much to do anyway, so just stay a little later and race on Saturday.
Just my opinion.
I'm sure we can get the results on the wireless network, still working on being able to see the race screen.
RACER185 01-30-2006, 08:44 PM Danny
Option A has my vote too.
Jim
XtremeRC97 01-31-2006, 12:10 PM I like option A the best. Either way it is going to be a great race.
jimmy24 01-31-2006, 04:21 PM danny, i vote for opt.a and opt. b track time beats workin' anytime :dude:
I would also say that A is cool. I would say that we also need to setup a controlled practice. I am not sure if that was in the works already but I think it would be good to get blocks of time setup so people can plan their morning around that. I would say that most of the classes are close in speed the only one that I think needs it's own deal would be open mod but what does everyone else think?
Bob Wright 01-31-2006, 07:30 PM Option A,as an out of towner the earlier that we can get out of there on Sunday the better.
For controlled practice:
Sportsman and stock
19T,BL and 1/12th scale
Open Mod
In a format that is proportional to the entries.
Bob Wright 01-31-2006, 07:38 PM Entry is also in the mail.
BL and 19T.
"Frank Ulbrik" 01-31-2006, 07:52 PM What scenario is the byob bar included in???? ;)
That is option C with the hauler to that one leaving shortly after the races. You are MORE than welcome to tag along again this year!! We are going to be testing a new facility though but we have heard good things.....
Bob W 01-31-2006, 08:38 PM  Option A sounds good.
Sonny B 01-31-2006, 08:40 PM I would vote for A.
Entry form is being mailed tomorrow. Open Mod and Brushless for me.
Xpressman 01-31-2006, 09:05 PM What scenario is the byob bar included in???? ;)
