Roadster99 01-11-2006, 04:59 PM I wish matchbox would use some of their older castings agian, kind of like how hotwheels does it. That would be pretty neat.

Bugzy,
Thanks for the compliments. I do have more Rola-matics. But, this and the other MB pictures was all I had in Photo Bucket. I would have to get them out and take some more pictures.
I have a few hundred MB in my collection. I really like the older stuff and have been adding to my collection a lot lately.

jeep4x4 01-14-2006, 12:50 AM Oh wow! I posted that first post before I kept reading. I like the Golden Eagles! Very nice! Thanks for the pics!
jeep4x4 01-14-2006, 01:13 AM Here's a picture with the old and the new Jeep. When I first saw Bugzy's post of the goldden ealge I though wow that's nice, then I though that looks so familer. Then I remembered the nice little surpise that CTWLSMIKE sent me in a trade I did with him. Thanks again. I get to go dig it out from being packed away. Still trying to get settled in from moving.
Hey Bugzy, do you know when that red Golden Eagle came out? I know the casting date says 1981, is that when the red one came out?
https://home.comcast.net/~gmarsteller05/DSCF0357.JPG
Bugzy 01-14-2006, 09:00 AM I think the #5 Jeep came out around 1979 with the old US Postal Jeep....and then all others after 1979 carried this casting style.... the red Golden Eagle is a Made in Macau 1981....and the gold one a Lesney made in England..1981.. this casting style (Golden Eagle) I would say came out in 1981..not absolutely sure..have several versions of this one...
...the Jeep pictured with the Red GEagle....what brand is it..is it a custom..? love those wheels..
.....here are the 2 that started it all...available only in yellow Jeep CJ5#72 the first is from 1967 and then they went to the Superfast wheels around 1969-70 to try and keep up with the Hotwheels brand....

jeep4x4 01-14-2006, 11:44 AM Wow! I really like those yellow jeeps! I like the first set of wheels the best. I need to get some of those!
The black jeep is a new Superfast 1998 Jeep Wrangler I got the wheels and axles from one of those little rock crawlers that they use to sell in Wal-mart. I can't think of the name of them righ now.

Steve C. 01-20-2006, 12:25 AM Several years ago I called Jennifer at Fred Bloods store (1 stop Diecast) I drove over from San Diego and picked up 250 6 car Johnny Lightning Interlocking Displays...they are great !
As far as collecting I was nine and started in 1967, living in England (Air Force Brat) I started with Corgi and Matchbox...not a consistant collector mind you...just bought some...layed off...somemore...layed off...that kinda thing.
