I will be there at round 1 and will try to hit number 2, but the third round is too far for me to get to easily.

Just a note: HobbyTalk will be the Truck Mod class sponsor for the winter season of the electric RCPro Series. We hope everyone enjoys the raaces in their area.

I have a few questions for anyone who may know. How does the series work? i know there are points for each division and you only race in one division. But, how do the finals work? do the top point holders of the three races get the invite or is it open to all? Are there throw outs? i.e. "best of three"

From understanding of the rules (thus no expert) the top 20 in each division get an invitation to the Nationals. There are no "throw out" races within the Divisions. Since there are only 3 races in each division all of them will count. If I am wrong hopefully someone will correct me.

Also, for electric they will use a "bump up" system for the mains in that the winner of a main will bump up and run in the next higher main. Ought to be interesting to see how they pull that one off :)

Thanks I will give it a try. Is a perm. number needed to race?

hankster

If you can't get one from him you can pick one when you get to the race. Getting one first will just save you some time when you get to the race.

I was under the impression it was best 2 out of 3 races. I have also emailed the contact from the website for an answer to this question and for a permanent number and have heard nothing. If all three races count I don't know if it is worth it if we can only make 2 races. Does anyone have any idea who else I could try and contact?

I would like to offer anyone that will be attending the RCPro Series race at Planet RC free number plates. Just let me know your name and number and I will make you up one sheet that will contain 3 plates. You can then see me either Friday or Saturday to get your number plate. See examples below:

http://webpages.charter.net/hobbytalk/rcpronumberplate.gif

http://webpages.charter.net/hobbytalk/rcpronumberplate1.jpg

I will be attending the Stock race only (Saturday) so will only be able to provide pates for those that will be there on Saturday. Just reply to this post with your name and plate number and I will make them up and bring them to the track. Enjoy!

I cut the comm on one of my stock motors last night and broke an O ring. I went to the auto supply house to get a suitable replacement and two of them broke..Does anyone have a size on the O ring they have used? My lathe is a Integy Fashion MOD.

This may sound stupid, but I am very new to the sport and was wondering if anyone can sign up and race at the pro series events ? do they just have A-Z mains or do you have to qaulify and they only run one quailfyer ? also do anyone know if they have a novice or intermidate class at these events ? thanks

cory30
02-02-2006, 10:49 PM
You can sign up when you get there. Stock is on Saturday, and Mod is on Sunday. Each day is 4 qualifiers and Mains. I don't think they run novice in the pro-series.Practice is all day Friday and 1 hour of practice on Saturday for those who could not make it Friday.

Thank you very much, do you know how many mains they run A-Z ? or just A-D ? thanks

hankster
02-02-2006, 11:19 PM
Anyone can race. I doubt the field will be filled so you should be able to register on Friday. 4 qualifers are run and you are placed in a main according to your best 2 qualifiers. Everyone that enters will race a main. There is no novice or intermidate class.

Had a great time at the race and was good to meet a lot of you guys. Decent turnout with about 90 enteries for the stock classes. Think it was 51 for stock truck and 43 for stock buggy. I had a fairly good practice session on Friday but sucked majorly on race day... oh well... there is always the next race day!

Hank.....There were 57 in stock truck.......I thought you did quite well. This was the first time for me and breaking in the main really capped off the weekend. BUT I did have a great time and look forward to the MI race at Dirtburners...Thanks again for the decals...

Had a great time at the race..But the turn out was small compared to Indy last month..I guess most people are holding out for round three in IL.
