For those interested, I've finally put up my webpage about a photographic comparison between three '65 Mustang fastback, from Aurora, Johnny Lightning and Model Motoring.

If you have some comment, suggestion or correction (my english is not so good at all), just tell me, thanks

Just click here (http://slotcar.zanzaman.com/tip_mustangs.html) or from the index of my website (http://slotcar.zanzaman.com/)

Oh an by the way, I sadly broke the top of my ModelMotoring one :(

So if some good soul has a red top for sale or even a boot top from even a Johnny one so I can transform it as a convertible, I'll greatly accept it

Thanks for the write up...

I think it's an interesting & informative piece. I'm not a newbie, but I'm not an expert on slot cars either. It would be nice to have similar comparisons for all of the Aurora repops. It would make for a great reference book for those of us who would otherwise have no way to tell one brand from another! There doesn't seem to be too many current reference books available on the subject.

Thanks for the research Zanza. That aurora mustang is in beautiful condition. I purchased a painted charger that had 3 layers of paint on it and revealed a purple charger with no stripe on the back. It took me a while to compare it to JL and determine that it was authentic aurora. In the same purchase was what I thought in the picture a cougar. It turned out to be an authentic butterscotch GTO after all the paint got cleaned off. I like your comparison and would enjoy more!
Thanks
Jim

As far as Mustangs go, the original Aurora is still the best looking one of the bunch. It looks like a model while the JL looks like a toy.

What you did is great. I do how ever wish you could have entered the Atlas one for compareson,I remember liking its body lines for some reason.

Funny you talk about this Atlas one, as I just bought one through eBay but still haven't received it.... And yes I think the Atlas Stang is a marvellous one looking fastback, hope to receive it soon

WEsJY: and I thought that it was not so interesting and that everybody should already know....
Great if it can help anyone, that was the point, so that's cool.

I hope to receive soon this Atlas Mustang baby to compare it with the others, but it's normally different as it appears to be molded in one piece and not like the other three with a top glued on it.

It is different but when you get it, if you would post it comparing it to the others,Ithink that would still be great and appreciated. I have always wanted to do that, but when I can bid on one on flea bay I,m always sniped or the auction is just to high or withdrawn. I still try when I can.
