I drive mainly now a sportmaxx but want to get my electric stampede running. I just thought that possibly one of you all could help. Well here it goes. ONe day I was out driving the truck on the street just doing simple high speed passes. I uses up all my batteries and come in awhile to recharge them. ONce they are recharged o put them in the car and turn it on. It doesn't go at all. It won't even turn the front wheels. I tested moter and i know the batteries are good. Truck is completly stock and i didn't drive the truck hard at all, not even any ramps if that helps and not through any snow or mud or rain either. If you can help please do so. Either post here or send to generallee01luke@yahoo.com

Sounds like a bad connection to me. Try wiggling & twisting the plug a little. If you're still using the stock white Tamiya style connectors consider changing.

Yup, sounds like a connection problem.

You didn't say whether you have an ESC in there or the MSC.
If you have an ESC the switch may not be fully on. Do you have steering? That would indicate the batteries are connected to SOMETHING. You say you tested the motor? As in put a battery directly to it and it went like crazy?

You should try to systematically go through the wires and I bet you will find a bad connector somewhere in the circuit. LUK

I have a stock esc and my sterring doesn't work. I also recall the moter jumping for a second when it was switched on. Also is there supposed to be a little lcd light come on in the esc to indecate power and if it is a light it isn't coming on. COuld it possibly be my esc is dead or there is a bad connection inside the wire coming from the battery. If the esc might be dead is there some way to test it. Thanx a bunch

Yes by testing it i mean connecting it up directly to the battery.

Could be a loose wire in the on/off switch, or a bad connection between the battery and the esc. That's where I'd start, wire some sermos connectors on the battery and esc, then try hard wiring the esc on (bypasing the switch).

It COULD be a dead ESC but if it was running and then it wasn't with only a battery change in between, that would be VERY unlikely.

Still leaning towards the bad battery connection, those stock white connectors are horrible.

Was it wet or snowy when you ran your truck up and down the street?

i looked at the pede today and the switch is still good. I think it might be the "power transitor" in the esc. It migh tbe called something else but anyway what do u think. Has anyone else had this strange and irritating problem? Is there something else it could be? Thanx

Maybe you should get a cheap replacement ESC, there are alot to choose from out there. I went with a M-Troniks ESC in my 'Pede because it's waterproof.

take it in to a hobby shop and see if they can help you.

but witht he fact the motor jumped, then nothing worked, i would think it is a bad wire. but it could be a fried esc.....good luck getting it figured out.

not the last time i drove it but now that i think about it oen time i did drive it into a creek but i don't think it got wet. I pulled it out and it drove fine for the next few run times for some days and then it died. could that be it. Is there any way to repair it or should i just buy a new one.

I had a similar problem it could also be the reciever, check the connection on it, if you get the light on the esc, that means its getting power but your not able to get it to the servo or motor due to the reciever, try another reciever if you have one like the one in your sportmaxx. it could be just that, if not, go out and get a 60 dollar esc like the duratrax 8t. Thats what im running in mine with a 10t speed gems.
