View Full Version : Two tyco bodies was left for dead...
WesJY 01-09-2006, 03:12 AM One tyco little red wagon body (posts were broken (fixed), missing black platform - i used a piece of lexan and paint it black, added little red wagon decals (Thanks ROADRUNNER for the freebie decals), painted in banner red, front bumper area were broken off so had to cut and sand til its even , added one monster motor, with cool alumnium wheels and now it's alive.. :)
And there is a altered-vicky tyco body (the whole body had worn paint but nothing was broken but it had missing parachute and pipes thats it so painted it in black, added motor under the hood and blower on top of hood, added flames decals with whitewall tires to make it look offical.
Found them both at local slot car show for $1.00.

zanza 01-09-2006, 03:30 AM Kickass salvage from death, compliments. The Red Wagon looks far better like this instead of the original (for the pictures I know, as I never seen one), really!
I love the Vicky too, don't know why but it instantly remind me the cover of the first Stray Cats album (even if that's something like an hiboy 32 rod on it)....
joez870 01-09-2006, 07:46 AM Wes! WooHOO! I Love them! Like zanza, I have only seen pics of the truck. There are just a few spaces left to fill in my "jebus" case. These 2 cars sure would look nice in there, right next to my red vicki! (in the " Gonna suck through the motor and blow ya out the tailpipe" section!) LOL Keep on building!
coach61 01-09-2006, 09:14 AM Nice work Wes! Great save and the two look awesome now. I agree with Zanza much better then the originals.
roadrner 01-09-2006, 09:15 AM Wes,
You didn't waste anytime getting those on! Look great.
 rr
jack0fall 01-09-2006, 09:45 AM Great looking re-fabs there Wes. Love 'em both. The "Lil-Red" has always been a favorite of mine. Thanks for the pics. Keep em coming.

boss9 01-09-2006, 08:17 PM Coo! These are gorgeous!
What an excellent job you achieved with the refurbishing!
I really like the Wagon. I have a beater of that model that was burned on one side that I am re-doing. I hope it looks half as good as yours.
The Vicky lends itself well to that scheme, also. It looks as good as anything I’ve seen, and actually better than the original.
Really great work there, Wes!
Cheers..
T-jetjim 01-10-2006, 07:56 AM Wes - Great job! I have the old tyco red wagon. Yes it is missing the flat black deck and motor, so it is due for a similar recovery. Those aluminum wheels really set it off.

micyou03 01-10-2006, 10:07 AM Just gorgeous.
Marty 01-10-2006, 11:25 AM Very Kool looking!
Where are the wheels and W/W tires from on the Vicky?

the front and rear wheels are from lifelike (chrome) and whitewall tires came from a diecast that I cannot remember the company name (maybe something like rat boyz - the one that had 49 merc in flat black with red hub and whitewall tires). i had those tires in plastic bag for so long.

tjd241 01-12-2006, 09:07 AM I never paid much mind to Tyco back in the day. Everything mostly sold around here was Aurora. These really make me think twice about adding a few vintage Tycos to my collection. If they can be refurbed and look this cool ... wow, I'm gonna take another look at the next show I go to. You've got some serious skills and aptitude Wes... do some more!!!
