Hello to all you model builders and movie goers out there. I had seen a double feature yesterday at my local multiplex. I had seen both Hostel and Bloodrayne. Here is a short review on both:

Hostel:
I liked it and it is a film that had some fresh ideas in it. The gore factor was more then I have seen in the past decade in the crud that has been produced. Sex crazed teens on a Euro trip gone bad, nice concept. I won't reveal any spoilers, but I do suggest SEEING it :freak: <--- you'll know what I mean if you go and SEE :freak: it. All in all a good film by Eli Roth for his second feature. I hope the more films that he makes, they get better. I believe the two that he has made so far, have been gems in a rather cruddy part of the film industry. He has breathed new life into horror films, and I thank him.

Rating: 3 out of 4 stars :)

Bloodrayne:
I really don't know where to start on this review. A movie that should not have been made perhaps? The Sci-Fi channel makes better movies with the budgets that they are allowed!! The chick from T3 still has a nice figure, but looked very plain and somewhat unattractive, she did gain a little weight, but still looks nice. Her acting was sub-par, even Michael Madsens acting stunk  !! It seems more films that Michael Madsen does, his acting gets worse  , and I really use to like his dead-pan acting style too, now it has grown very old!! I really would suggest staying away from this turd bomb!! Ben Kingsleys acting wasn't any better, . I also think, I am not sure, but his right hand man played a Power Ranger for a short time, I think an evil one? Anyway, avoid this movie at all costs, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!

Rating: -4 out of +4 stars

I forgot to mention that there was also some gore in Bloodrayne, it was the only highlight in the movie, pretty good FX work though. It also looked like the movie was made to be LARGER in scope then it was budgetly allowed to be, and with that was very boring, longer then it should have been and just plain dragged in many of places. There was also a dragged out sex scene that should not have been in the movie, as it really sloooowwwed doowwwnnn the move A LOT and was on boarderline of soft core porn. Like I suggested PLEASE STAY AWAY!!

Is Uwe Bolle this generations Ed Wood? Here (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0093051/filmorate) are the IMDb ratings for his films. In the last couple years, he has directed three video game adaptions with an average rating of 2.25.

I unfortunally saw both House of the Dead and Alone in the Dark. Both are also the stinkiest movies that these blue eyes have ever viewed. I always go into watching a movie with an open mind, only to have it liquified :freak: by the crud that I have viewed, that of course was directed by Uwe Bolle.

I would have to agree with you BEBruns on the Ed Wood statement. But the differance between Ed Wood and Uwe Bolle, is that Uwe Bolle is getting some type of budget for the films that he directs. Ed Wood did not, and that is why his films were what they were made out to be. What's Uwe Bolle's reasons?

Plus, Ed Wood's movies are genuinely entertaining.
