My dad has had this sitting around forever and now that I have gotten into collecting diecast he asked me if I could find anything out about this.
Does anybody know anything about these?
Here are some pics.

Here is the base. Dad says he still has the key to wind the car up.

There is a watch mounted to the back!

Here is the front.

Here is the side. The levers control the gears. It can sit idle and shake or it can drive forward.
Enjoy the pics and if anybody has any info, that would be great.

hi centershock i asked my hubby to look at the car he said that he has seen that car sell at toy auctions in the 50.00 dollar range and they were reproductions .lilliput is a company that makes a lot of tin toy reproductions ,the number could be 1940s to 1950s he sold a 1225 which was a mercer car original in good condition from the 1950s for 150.00 your dads car should have a fair amount of rust on it to be a 1950s original in the wind up part .cant tell by the picture but if you look where the key goes in you should see rust inside and the tabs that hold the bottom together should show signs of rust plus the axles i can see paint chips on the back of the car and a few other places and the discoloring on the headlights and cowl lights but its hard to tell from a picture if your dad had it since the 60s or earlier it would be original if bought in the late 80s early 90s its most likely a reproduction now the price for a model t is not that high because the collectors that collect that kind of car are in the old age homes l.o.l. it would go in the 50. to 200 .dollar range at the right auction .a 1950s or 60s car goes higher because the guys who collect say a 1960 ford are still collecting cars not ready for the old age home l.o.l. my hubby just got rid of all his cars because the market is dropping for a lot of the older stuff hes not ready for the old age home just changed hobbys went back to radio control planes tired of diecast cars .the older cars are like a treasure hunt car or white lightning high some days and cant give them away a couple of years later if you put that car on a auction site it might sell right away if the right person is looking that day or it could sit there and not get a bid for months. i see cars on the toy peddler where i buy a lot of older cars sit there months on end and some are reasonable just no market for them i bought a car i seen in august when i first started using a computer .the guy was asking 20 dollars i thought it was to much at christmas time it was still there my hubby looked at it and said buy it the car is worth the money and if you like it then thats a bonus i bought it and it turned out to be an original car not a reproduction car and a collector my hubby knew offered me 200.dollars for it l.o.l. i kept the car because i like it schuco cars do have a collectable value they went out of business a long time ago but the company that bought them still makes them under the schuco name we see them at one toy show we go to every year the guy who sells them sells a lot of odd cars none are cheap he says he has people that buy cars from him like myself l.o.l. that will pay for cars they want and dont care about the price its true i bought a car from him because i wanted it it was mint in the box and i payed 300. for it and that was a lesney car . my hubby said it was about 100 .more than it was worth l.o.l. but i didnt care it was his money l.o.l. we are going to the toy show in two weeks so ill see if i can find out anything else about your dads car this guy is also a collector and knows his cars .

hi centershock i asked my hubby to look at the car he said......
Wow! Thanks for the "Antique Roadshow" answer! I opened up the inside and it all looks brand new so it must be a repro. The only area with rust is the steering column.
I look forward to hearing what the guys at the show have to say.
