I know that Whedon says "No more Firefly" ( )but, what about reincarnating the show as an anime? Would that work? I don't much about anime but I do know I would watch the show in any form.
Sorry,I guess I just can't let go! :( T'was way too good of a show with enormous potential.

He didn't say "no more Firefly," he said they would never pick the TV show up where it left off - and he said that he had more stories to tell about Mal and the crew, and that he'd do another movie if Universal wants to, based on DVD sales. Don't read too much into the "no more Firefly" statement.

If I remember correctly, there is, or will be, a comic book.

People would say Firefly anime would be too much like Cowboy Bebop.

So then you already have a built in audience! Hey, it may look like it superficially, but that's about it. The stories would be completely different.

The last I'd heard, shortly before "Serenity" came out on DVD, was that there's a tentative plan for a direct-to-Sci-Fi sequel, depending on how the DVD sales went (and since it debuted as the #1 DVD, I'd say the odds of getting that sequel increased somewhat).
The "no more Firefly" bit, I think, has more to do with Fox still having the TV series rights and being not the least bit willing to relinquish those rights, as well as Entertainment Weekly looking for a nifty headline to get attention with.
