Here's a bit of info:
It is the green and white building that everyone is speaking of - Basically, exit from 275 onto Ford Rd. (east) and head down around 1.5 miles and make a left on Executive Dr. It's the 2nd industrial building on the left hand side behind the GFS Foods building. . The building is almost 10,000sqft with 7,500 of that being dedicated to race track/pit area. The rest will be the hobby shop and CEFX. We didn't plan on the building being all done up in the green and white but it really worked out that way!!
The new place is called "CEFX Raceway". Double the insurance to insure two companies running and operating from the same building seems a bit crazy. There are other small matters but that was the main issue. Sad, but the Halo name is being left behind with the old place in Toledo....
Places to eat - It's Ford Rd...lol... Name it, it's within 15 minutes either way from the track!
Ernie Parison 01-06-2006, 05:43 PM New Oval Thread for CEFX Raceway!
Post here if you are interested in an Oval Program in westland.
MKingsley 01-06-2006, 06:53 PM Sounds awesome I will make this race.

racknok 01-08-2006, 08:15 AM I wil be there. Josh can you drag out some of the old guys? What are the times you will be open on Friday and Saturday and what time does racing start on Saturday?
Jamie Hanson 01-08-2006, 09:11 AM You can count me in. I talked to Sparks and he said to make sure it was known he will be there also.
I will be there to run 4300 brushless.
oldguy 01-09-2006, 12:17 AM Keith, do you think that Ted still might still be able to turn left only ????
racknok 01-09-2006, 07:19 AM From what I understand he can still turn left and right. Not sure about his kid but I will get on him tomorrow about going.
Roadsplat 01-10-2006, 12:16 AM I'm planning on comming.
What time do the doors open on Saturday and what time does the racing start?
Thanks
RC
DynoMoHum 01-10-2006, 11:53 AM I'm too poor to race... but I'll be there to watch I think.

tw78911sc 01-10-2006, 05:56 PM C3,
Welcome on board, Cinncy this week, CEFX next week. What classes you gonna run?
Tom
Roadsplat 01-10-2006, 08:59 PM What time is does the racing start? Anyone know?
Thanks
DynoMoHum 01-16-2006, 12:30 PM Posted by Xpressman over on the brushless Lipo section (not sure why this discussion got going over there first.. )
"This is an e-mail I recieved from Josh's wife about the race:
Fri Jan 20 is practice 2pm-9pm $10.00
Sat Jan 21 is practice till 3:30pm 3 quals and mains start at 4pm
$15.00/first class and $5/each additional
3 people make a class and we will run whatever the guys want
we still have a little bit of oval stuff from last year, but parts and
bodies are limited, tires are questionable at this time"
I'm not racing this year... but I'd like to see as many who are racing this year support CEFX's efforts to run oval... It would seem that oval near mid to southeastern michigan this year could use another track runing some oval...
erock1331 01-16-2006, 04:31 PM any info on the track runline, infield width and so on ?
or track pics ?
Carpet Assasin 01-16-2006, 10:32 PM Is it bigger than Halo? If so I will be there. Any good hotels for a good price near by?
Thanks
"Frank Ulbrik" 01-16-2006, 11:42 PM From what I seen it's the same track layout as toledo. It's a nice setup!
Hopefully some of the mod guys show up................... :dude:
erock1331 01-17-2006, 12:01 AM Mario
Mike is right,
Brian Anthony posted on another board that the oval is gonna be the same layout as his old track.
racknok 01-17-2006, 07:23 AM Frank I know there is going to be five of us running 5.5 brussless. Not sure how they are compared to mod. This will be the first time we have run them.
"Frank Ulbrik" 01-17-2006, 08:48 PM run em with the mods....
Xpressman 01-17-2006, 11:12 PM Sorry guys I didn't see that there was a thread in the oval section. I think all the info is here in posts #19 and #22. It's the same carpet as Halo as well as the same "ice."
Racknor get ready for the wholeshot with the brushless, tons of bottom end.
Xpressman 01-17-2006, 11:18 PM Also, for those of you with on-road cars it is road course on sunday with doors opeing at 9am.
Whos all gonna be there Friday???
I'll practice with the 5.5 and then I'll see if i'm up to runnin it.
Ernie Parison 01-20-2006, 02:52 PM ttt!!!!!!!!!
I'll practice with the 5.5 and then I'll see if i'm up to runnin it.
You will be.
Josh Cyrul 01-22-2006, 12:07 AM Hey Everyone,
We just finished up racing here and I really wanted to thank everyone for coming out. I hope everyone had a good time and enjoyed our new facility. Hopefully, by the time everyone comes back we will have a lot more of the fine details finished up to make the place even better.
Keep me posted as to the oval schedule as we definatly would like to fill in the dates to try and give everyone a great place to race on the off-weekends from the regular schedule.
Thanks for coming out!
Later,
Josh
P.S. Thanks to Ernie for the "rent-a-wreck"!!! I had fun racing (that was the first time I raced at the track since we moved up here!!).
smitty 01-22-2006, 09:44 AM Josh, it was fun day and an excellent facility. I hope you have future oval races. Thanks Greg Smith
Thanks Josh for the awesome race! You have by far the best facility I've been to at least this season. I would gladly come to any oval race you held.
Suggested dates would be Jan 28th, Feb 4th, Feb 18th, Mar 4th, Mar 18th, Mar 25th.
I'm sure everyone will provide input on this.

tw78911sc 01-22-2006, 03:19 PM I'd happily jump on the 4300BL band wagon and come 2x a month on Saturdays. Great fun, good to see familiar faces from all over plus to see so many folks come out and run after several years.
Tom
"Chris Ulbrik" 01-22-2006, 07:16 PM Results?
OvalTrucker 01-22-2006, 09:08 PM I had a great time. I was fun to open em up on a bigger track. Especially the Mod Trucks. They really start to shine when you can run on larger ovals.
Looking forward to coming again.
My only suggestion would be to start racing earlier. Maybe shoot to be finished by 7 or 8 pm. Since the "regular oval guys" have been there/done that we wouldn't need as much set-up time.
DynoMoHum 01-24-2006, 09:11 AM Sorry I didn't make it even to watch guys... I was sick as a dog, and just couldn't pry myself away from home... I am currious about what the results were, etc...
oldguy 01-24-2006, 12:09 PM Chris, I can tell you about the brushless races. In the 4300 class, Dave Zipp TQ'd and Josh won the A-main in a loaner from Erine. Sparky was second, and Jamie and Ernie had a shootout for 3rd. The guys ran the 5.5 motor for the first time in competition. Keith TQ'd and Jamie won the main. This motor is crazy fast in pan car, and all six drivers (Keith, Deano, Jamie, Dave, Mike, and Jon R,) seemed to enjoy the rip and speed that they could put down at Josh's track which is big enough to handle this new motor.
Great setup Josh thanks. Very smooth and big oval. Definetly would make the trip down agian. The 5.5's were alot of fun.

They say the 5.5 is only about a 9 turn compared to brushed. Both Novak and Reedy have 4.5 which should be closer to a 7 turn. Hi ho horsepower.
Roadsplat 01-28-2006, 12:23 AM Any chance you'll be running oval the first part of Feb?
RC
Josh Cyrul 01-28-2006, 11:42 PM RC - Yep, I'm going to post things soon with all the info but I can tell you that we are for sure going to race oval on Feb. 4th. Open at 10am, racing at 3pm. 3 heats and a main.
Roadsplat 01-28-2006, 11:56 PM That sounds great.
Thanks
RC
racknok 01-29-2006, 07:36 AM Thats great. But this time only one class. Maybe a few of them retired racers that was there was week can go down in the basement under the steps and drag out their old tool box and cars. Oh ya guys use the same batteries you did last time you raced.
SWEET! Ill be there on the 4th. 1 class for me - 4300. (I had to send the sphere in to get "fixed")
OvalTrucker 01-29-2006, 06:42 PM I'm not sure if I'll be able to make this one. I'm sure you guys will miss me!! LOL!!
I may be up to my eyeballs in SuperBowl pregame hoopla!
MKingsley 01-29-2006, 06:43 PM That sounds great 4300 only for me......GTB is in for some work.
Xpressman 01-29-2006, 07:52 PM Why all the speed control problems? Seams like it's not just one brand?
hobbyten 01-29-2006, 08:10 PM i'll be in tenn on that weekend meeting my new granddaughter
