I read that the writer got the idea for the movie from a supposed web-site he learned of where you can go to torture and kill someone for $10,000.

Anyone know if this is true?

Not that I'd ever go and participate in such a thing but do such places exist?

Damn! I'm going to sue for copyright infringement!

'Snuff Films' have been talked about for years, but are they real or myth? Call the Mythbusters!
I saw a movie starring Nicholas Cage looking for the victums identity.

I know, why would anyone participate in that???

I think the place is in thailand or something.

I'm sorry to say folks but sex chambers and houses like that mentioned above do exist, in fact they are as old as time itself, just like politics, war and crime.

It isn't the money its just what people will do for it and the reasons very more than one can say.

........and what beeblebrox said.

I love a GOOD horror flick as much as the next guy but this filnm looks like its just plain SICK!

GOD we need the Beattles back! more something other than just KILLING, explosions and the bad guys being the good guys!

As far as I know, there's never been a single proveable, documented case of a so-called "snuff film" — that is, where a person is actually murdered on camera for the specific purpose of being filmed as "entertainment." (Recent videos of terrorist beheadings and the like are in a completely different category.) Snuff films belong to the world of urban myth, along with the device that makes your car get 100 miles per gallon and the Lovers' Lane killer with the hook.

And what the heck do the Beatles have to do with this?

So does this story. I read an interview with the director today in which he re-iterated the whole story but when the reporter asked him for a link the director said that it was no longer there and indicated that when he had gone to the so-called site previously he got scared off because it asked for a credit card number. Now, think about that logically. Don't believe everything you hear or everything a young up-and-coming director says when he's trying to promote his internet-buzz slasher movie.

And what the heck do the Beatles have to do with this?

They made Charlie Manson do it.

look, theres no lie too big, no lie too small for a studio p.r. department to cook up in the attempt to fill theatre seats. and folks like tarentino, et al. being good team players (not to mention contractually obligated to do so) spread the stories that the publicity guys cook up. rememebr when the blair witch project came out and the story was that it was for real?

myself i have my doubts about the stories of linsey lohan and brenden rousch having parts of their anatomies digitally reduced for their recent films. it just smacks of a studio p.r. tale. saying "we had to reduce her bust/his package for this movie" is them actually saying "you gotta come see this movie, cause youre not gonna beleive how big her bust/his package is!"

the hostle story is cleverer than that, but still, dont expect them to dig up a real "hostel" any time soon.

Lindsay seems to have reduced her bust all by herself with liberal applications of coccaine and diet pills.

Not seen it, but the premise sounds like Feardotcom. A movie not worth watching in its own right BTW.

Yes, I saw! She's getting it back together, thankfully. Now if only she let her hair grow back to its natural gorgeous aubern. I hear she's been having some serious asthma trouble lately too, poor kid.

OOPS! spelled Beatles wrong...that is a shame.

I was just saying that this planet can use some GOOD VIBES, some positive reinforcement and leadership ....thats all.

Too much needless death on screen and OFF!

NOTE: I have not seen 'Hostel' yet so I have no idea what its 'really' about and what the message is.
