i have a computer on win XP i was just wondering if there is anyway to make it start up faster, because it takes forever to start up. it gets through the windows xp screen fast, but it sits at the desktop with the hourglass for a long time and nothing will load any programs until it's done starting

Click Start, click Run, type msconfig,click OK, click Startup tab, click Disable all, Click OK, Click restart computer. That will disable all programs that start when the computer loads Windows. Most virus scanners will add themselves back to the startup group. It will boot faster, but you will have to start apps manually.
