hi all, i wanna start the new year with a new thread.

thank you everyone who made r/c world & raceway come alive in 2005.

i'd especially like to thank... Dash, Cory, Pat, Joe, & Eric for their help at the hobbyshop.

I'm very proud of the racers here, we have a good bunch of guy's who all get along and have fun racing r/c vehicles, wether it be indoor carpet oval or outdoor off-road, we do our best to keep it real and keep it fun.

When is the next Trophy race, also so where are you guy's racing this weekend.

mhawk11
01-03-2006, 02:53 PM
thanks pat, that is a fine compliment.

mitch, and everyone... we cancelled our trophy race the 15th because we just had the $$ race on the first, r/c world doesn't need two big races in one month.

i gave up the 15th to barre because they were possibly gonna have an attendance problem with the big roar race at maximus.

i wanna go to both barre & maximus, i have some very capable people here to run the races while i attend these "big ones".

the 15th is still not a point race here but this weekend is.

later racerz...

mhawk11
01-09-2006, 08:23 PM
hey everyone, we're back in massena, things didn't go as planned in maine, but we had fun and that is what matters most.

i was sitting looking at my racer before the main.. after replacing things that got bent or broke and or dislodged after three ruff heats and radio problems on sunday but not saturday.
we decided to put our cars back in the hauler... "save it for barre" is what pat and me decided after seeing that the features had two more racers than the heats. normally that isn't a problem, but i think the salt air had an effect on us inlanders...lol caused us to missjudge the corners after a 80" straitaway.

the track in maine "maximus" was great and the facility was awsome, the local racers were like r/c racers here in massena... fun to be around!

we might go back in april, maximus has a trophy race and a big barbeque planned. sounds good.

see ya at the shop,

junior

i really want to thank them for doing what they can while the tour guy's are out of town trying our best to represent r/c world & raceway.

I had the Pleasure of meeting Junior in an unfortunate situation, and I just want to say how much of a stand up guy he is, and no one could ever take away his professional race ethic and sportsmanship. We both were having a bad weekend far from our homes, and at one point, my weekend was going to look better than his. I was pretty far back in the heats and was trying to make up a large gap (From getting a car destroyed between the last round of practice and the first heat). He was doing the same, but only he still was unable to start the race (we both ended up with misery in the same "Low" heat. The horn sounded, and I was laying laps down, and was on a good pace to pick my way back up to the top. All of a sudden my car violently smashed the infield wall (Just stayed turning left off the corner). I finally was able to gain control and proceed (Hot under the collar) then it happened again, only going into a corner this time. By that time everything was either hanging off the car, or missing. Come to find out Junior was having radio problems, and tried a different set of crystals at the start of the first round. That didn't seem to do the trick, so he didn't start. The second round came along, I was on the grid, so I wasn't doing anything to the radio, but Juniors car was just stopping as he was going to line up. He pulled it off. Little did ANYONE know, he had switched to my channel. After I pulled my pile off the track, he must have put 2 and 2 together faster than I did, he came up to me and explained what happened, and appoligized to no end. NOT MANY PEOPLE WOULD DO THAT!. I shook his hand with appreciation, and he took off. He must have got a quick glimps of the car, and walked over with whatever he had and handed me some parts "This is the least I could do". Although it wasn't any ones particular fault, I just want everyone to know that I would have been upset longer if he hadn't stepped up (Although he didn't have to) Bottom line, we need more people like Junior Barnes in this hobby. There would be a hell of a lot less griping, hemming and hawing etc. If Junior is like that as a person, I could only imagine what his facility is like, and I WILL be visiting it soon...............

Dear Racers,
I couldn't agree with the powerhouse more. Great racing in the trophy race this past Sunday. Though the Nastruck/Sportsman A main was a little rough. I would like to see that get cleaned up a little. But with only six cars in that class. And all of them in the final. We felt it was going to be a little cheesey.
Many, Many thanks to all that came out and raced. You are all to be commended for your driving and sportsmanship!
We hope to see you all again this Sunday.

Sincerely,

The Dashman

yes, do we ever race the mini t class.

alot of the youngsters like to race that class... but we do offer a pro mini t class for the more experianced racer who doesn't have as much a budget.

i got a 18b that should be ready for the pro soon
