View Full Version : Last Day Of Year Find
gear buster 12-31-2005, 11:38 PM As I was strolling down the rows of venders ,I came across a table with a small box sitting on it. I looked at the box and it read "WHOLE BOX" $.....
don't want to say price just yet. I looked in box and found a few slots and parts I jumped for joy ,but then felt bad as I walked away with box in hand. :( Due to I thought someone got ripped in the end. Put it this way it didn't hurt me none in the pocket to buy the box. Here is a few pics so you can see what a few slots in the box looks like.Boy I Love end of year deals

tjd241 01-01-2006, 09:34 AM Wow, what a haul. That's what I call a happy start to the New Year. I always seem to be the guy who asks the vendor "do you have any slot car stuff"? ... minutes after a guy walks away with a box full of goodies like this. My timing must be off or something... I GOTTA change my browsing habits.

It was a flea market find at a local flea market near my parents.

A/FX Nut 01-02-2006, 11:00 AM Gearbuster, you shouldn't feel bad about getting the deal on those cars you got. The person that sold them stated a price and got what he/she asked for. Is it their fault that you have taken the time and effort to educate yourself on the value of these slot cars. No.
I got into this hobby in 1997 and I haven't ever come across a deal like that. I don't have as deep pockets as alot of other collecters/racers do. So when I can, I save money on this hobby.
I've recently started a HO Scale Train layout and having a wonderful time with it. So I haven't been to active on the Slot Car side of things. I've been looking in on this BB and reading a thread or two.
Anyway, great job on the find there. Randy.
gear buster 01-02-2006, 03:35 PM It is amazing the wings was still intack on the birds.I have been into slota since 82 and seen the time tjets bottomed out in the market.(Boy those was the good old days.)
