I wanted to know what is the best body to run for short track oval carpet racing for 1/10th STOCK pan cars? I have used, Mcasllister 05 charger, protoform 2000 HD monte and 2002 HD monte bodys. What do you recomend and what is the majority of bodys racers use? Any info would be great. Thanks to ALL.

On short tracks, most are running the proto dodge RT med down force, or bandit
"Short Track" ford tauras.

the most popular body is an hd monte by protoform.. it is a very very good body.. the MD intrepid works well to.. your body choice can differ based on how you set the car up.. ive seen guys be super fast with a body everyone else says wont work..

The body that you have practiced with the most!

You guys are fooling yourselves if you think aerodynamics between car brands play more than a small fraction amount in short track stock racing.

Just my opinion though,

On a short track I don't think it matters as far as aero goes. Run your favorite. I look for a body that is wider to protect the guts of the car cause of all the rubbin' in short track racin'. You can't win if you don't finish! $.02

I've been running the r/t for awhile now with really good results. It's got alot of front end bite. I think at least.

It all comes down to what you personally like. Get the feal you want and any of them can be winners. there are some that are just better in certain areas and in most cases that is what you want to go with. But, go with what works for you personally is the best way to go no matter what brand it is.

Keep you eyes on Windtunnel. In addition to one of the largest areo packages to choose from our new one is in testing right now.

Happy NewYear to all you oval guys out there! I hope 2006 is your best year yet.

I just wanted to let you know that the choice in short/flat track bodies will grow by 1 in the next week or two. It's all finished - we're just waiting for "official" licensing approval and decal sheets. If you're looking for a stock car body with all the latest in NEXTEL CUP aero tweaks.... well - it's got the whole enchilada.

Dale - PROTOform

Do you have a part number so I can have my hobbyshop get them on backorder. Ususally that's what he does when new stuff is on its way soon.

Is this the new "car of the future" that NASCAR has been talking about?

Thanks

Personaly I beleive the body has very little influence on short track carpet its all chassis and tire selection!
The Bandit BTP 5002 Short track Ford Taurus is a very well balanced body that I,ve ran on carpet , concrete and asphalt everything from a 150 foot runline to a 320 foot runline, but thats just me  I,m a lil differant.

Out of the two bodies you have listed I,d go with the MD Dodge its a less aggressive turning body with more than enough downforce for a stocker
