I have been looking forward to this set. The 1st season was the best. It had a sense of wonder, that was lost in the next two seasons. The only special features are deleted scenes. But for fans and modelers, it is worth getting.

I would like to get this set, but it hasn't shown up at Costco, yet. They're slipping further and further behind on being timely with new DVD releases. Often, it will be anywhere from one week to a month later past the release date before certain titles appear. If I find it cheaper elswhere, I'll buy it.

There was a coupon for $5.00 off the Seaquest set inside of BSG 2.0 that I got for Christmas. Local big box retailer had it on their new release special price rack today for 34.99, after using the coupon I got it for 29.99. One of the employees that I've known for 20 years told me it will be 44.99 come Monday.

I found it at Fred Meyer for about 45.00, didn't have the money though.

Good for me :)
Season 1 I loved.
Season 2, well I'm with Roy Scheider on that one. It was crap. No Hitchcock :(
Season 3, better than 2. But what'd they do to Jonathan Banks anti-whaler character from the 1st season? And still no Hitchcock :(

Watched the pilot episode and the next 2 today. I'd forgotton how obnoxious the water-logged Wesley Crusher clone (Lucas) was.

Johnathan Brandis (The kid who played Lucas) comitted suicide a few years back. His career did not take off after SeaQuest, he was one of those actors that could have played a teenager well into his thirties. I always liked him in "The Neverending Story 2", and "It".

One thing I did noticed, was how dated the FX is. When the second season came out, I was upset with the cast change. Tried to make it to attract younger viewers.

Yes, and fired the very beautiful Stephanie Beachum in favor of a walleyed Troi ripoff that NO ONE would believe could fall for craggy old Roy Schieder .

First season had a few real gems (a few more than season2, which was a zero.)

I think I still have the library at alexandria one on VHS ... that felt like good trek, with action, sf, and a really excellent resolution (and the only 'wet dream' I can recall seeing on broadcast tv at that hour of the night.)

the first half of the whale show was nearly as good, but then it turned into something very vile in my mind (the thing with Scheider taking a bite of the burger literally turned my stomach.)

There was a show where Hitchcock was onboard when the ship got taken over by an interesting antagonist that was also pretty good. 2-1/2 out of 22 or 24 ... well, there are series with worse records (VOYAGER/Little Enterprise)

I remember how the folks at both the Navy Diving School and Museum of man and the Sea (Both in Panama City) were really excited about and pushing this before it premiered, apparently the prevailing wisdom was this show was going to do for Navy diving what Top Gun did for Naval aviation. And it would be based on state of the art diving technology and be scientifically accurate.

I felt the same way watching it NASA astronauts must have felt watching Space 1999!
