the compound color dictates how much rubber content each foam tire has as well.. green is natural foam, white is exotic, and pink is high rubber content,, you need to give some more info here tho.. sounds like your looking to find out what compoundsto buy..

what type of surface are you looking to race on...
what class are you going to run..

I am going to run an rc10l4O (4cell stock) on a carpet oval.I was hoping I would be able to understand the differences between the colors.
I was told to buy whites for the rear but they didn't have any so I took a guess and bought purple.

yep those are definatley all the old bsr duros before john took them over..here is the new listing

Yellow - Duro 25-30; Softest compound (rears only). This is a new foam that we have just released (12/1/2004). Super soft for low bite stock racing. Available but still in testing.

Black - Duro 40-45 Awesome right side tire on carpet tracks. Works well for left front on banked tracks. Good right rear tire on very high bite tracks in stock.

Green - Duro 30-35; Medium-soft Traditional US green.
Firm Blue - Duro 55-65; Hard compound recommended on high traction banked carpet tracks. Also offered as a spec tire for front tires.
Gold - Duro 40-45; Medium-firm for high bite carpet tracks. Silver and gold are BSR exclusive compounds from Japan (not the old TRC silver and gold). A gold at 40 and a gray at 40, gold has less traction than a gray and a little more wear.
Silver - Duro 45-50; Firm compound for high bite carpet tracks
White - Duro 30-35; Medium/soft compound, recommended for mostly carpet tracks. Can be used on asphalt but wears alot on asphalt.
Gray - Duro 35-40; Medium compound recommended for mostly carpet tracks but also used on asphalt.
Gray/Silver - Dual compound-silver on outside of gray. Medium-firm for carpet tracks. This is a good stock right front tire.
Pink - Duro 30-35; Soft compound recommended for carpet and aspalt racing. Low wear/longer lasting characteristics.
Double Pink - Duro 35-40; Medium compound recommended for carpet and aspalt racing. This is equivilant to Jaco pink. Low wear/longer lasting characteristics.
Purple - Duro 38-43; BSR developed their own mix of select sheets and seam positioning for our purple. BSR's single purple is different than others. If you want a purple similar to Jaco use Our Double purple. Medium/firm compound recommended for carpet and aspalt racing. Low wear/ longer lasting characteristics.
Purple/Orange - Dual compound tire for carpet tracks. Helps prevent traction roll.
Double Purple - Duro 45-50; Firm compound recommended on high traction asphalt and carpet tracks. Equivilant to Jaco purple. Low wear/longer lasting characteristics.
Double Purple/Orange - Dual compound tire for high traction carpet tracks. Helps prevent traction roll.
Double Purple/Blue - Dual compound tire for high traction carpet tracks. Helps prevent traction roll.
Red - Firm compound recommended on

BLACK 40-45 awesome right side tire on flat carpet tracks. Works well for left front on banked. good right rear on high bite tracks in stock..

The lower the number, the higher grip right? What about liquid tire compound? Does tire compound last longer on softer tires than harder ones? I noticed that with my Pink TM's, my rear would start to get loose with my 27T stock pan. With the Aqua Jaco's I was running, I never had that problem. The pinks were awesome at the beginning but felt like they lost grip. They're also trued down whereas the Jaco's aren't. Please help. Thanks

On flat tracks Jaco LF-Gray, RF-Black, LR-Gray, RR-white, Banked Front Blue (2103), white rears - sometimes a Purple on LF. Compound all the surface of rear tires vary the surface area on front LF 1/2 - full, RF 1/4 to 3/4. If front starts to bite too much clean them with motor cleaner, and don't allow the compound to soak as long. This setup works with stock and 19turn. Several places have had limited or no supply of Jaco foams especially the favortie compounds.
Something I found out when switching compounds, sometimes you have to reduce the amount of surface area you cover with compound and how long you let it soak in on front tires. I had this problems mostly when using the Purple Jaco on LF, car would start to hook and pivot on it's nose - rear was wicked loose with whites.
Compounded less of the surface, reduced servo travel a little and it helped.
