Hasbro will release the first line of toys from the new Battlestar Galactica series as part of the upcoming line of Star Wars toys, according to reports at Rebel Scum (http://www.rebelscum.com/story/front/Hasbro’s_Plans_For_2006_95310.asp) and TheForce.net (http://www.theforce.net/latestnews/story/Hasbro’s_Plans_For_2006_95314.asp). Both Battlestar Galactica and Stargate toys will be included as a sort of "expanded universe" along with Hasbro's new Star Wars Titanium line.

Battlestar Galactica items include:

3-inch 2004 Scout ship vehicle
3-inch 2004 Colonial 1
3-inch 2004 Raptor
3-inch 2004 Viper Mark VII
Cylon Warrior (figure)
3-inch 1978 Viper vehicle
3-inch 1978 Cylon Raider vehicle
Stargate items on the list include:

3-inch Stargate with Stand
3-inch Death Glider ship
The toys will be shipped along with the Star Wars line in 2006, so keep your eyes on the toy aisle at your favorite store! There is no word yet on the toys' availability outside the U.S.

Art Asylum also has the rights to do some of the BSG figures in their MiniMates line. You can see pics in a couple of different threads in the the BSG forums (http://70.85.44.56/forum/index.php?showforum=29) at the unofficial AA forums.

Nice, but I want decent-sized accurate model kits of the Viper (II and VII), Raider and Galactica. How 'bout it??

How about some brand new kits of the original?

A 24+" Galactica would be nice, as well as a new viper.

I would love to see a re-issue of the old monogram viper!!!!! As cheesey as the original series was/is I love that Viper!!!!!!

Me too, as you can tell.....
That is a Monogram Viper shot at multiple angles and then dropped into Photoshop, and voila!

I have to say I'm underwhelmed. I would've preferred an accurate model or toy of the Galacticas.

I have to admit that I kind of like that old Monogram kit also. I still have one un-built and also got it signed by Richard Hatch.

Love the old show and the new line of toys is well over due. Joyride did an excellent job with the ships and Cylon's, but the two human figures were just average. AA and their mini mates line look really cool. Can't wait to see what the Viper and Raider ships look like.

3 inches... please... give me a break

My favourite Galactica toy is the huge studio scale model of the Colonial Viper that the now defunct and infamous Icon's did in the late 90's. I picked mine up on Ebay in 2000.

That was lovely, just too expensive.

The Cylon head they did was badass too

3 inches... please... give me a breakThat was my first reaction, but I'm curious as to exactly what that means. I'll wait and see.
EDIT: Okay, I see they're doing this in a manner akin to the "Titanium" Star Wars line -- I'd read that before and had it slip my mind (because I'm riddled with ADD!). But then, I have seen a couple of significantly larger Titanium Star Wars ships, and thought they were pretty nice ...

I, too, would appreciate a decent model kit of the new Gal.

i too would like a new Galactica,
a new Viper,
FireFly's Serenity
and a nice 1/6th scale Inara.
I know the last two have nothing to do with BSG but I just had to throw them in there.

The Cylon head was pretty good. I saw one of the prototypes at the 20 Year Galactica re union in 1998. It would not surprise me to see Master Replica's or someone release it in the future. Yep, the Viper was expensive in 2000, but I had to have it.

FireFly's Serenity did appear in the show so it does have something to do with it.
