View Full Version : Anyone Tried These or Even Heard of These?
Z-Main Loser 12-26-2005, 10:25 PM I was on Cheapbatterypacks.com and saw some Elite 3600 cells. The site claims that these cells have a higher discharge curve than IB 3800s. All their tests are done with unzapped cells. Just curious if any matchers have tried some of these and got any numbers. I'm not trying to throw more new cells into the battery game that is already a headache, but if its cheaper and better, I'm all for it. Just looking for some info on these.

pancartom 12-26-2005, 11:12 PM maybe they were close to the 1st generation 3800's, but not these cells that are out now. the latest cells are amazing.
yokman 12-27-2005, 08:32 AM i know some one around here is matching the same cell but it just has a plan green lable on them.he seemed prety fast with them but for my $$$$ i am sticking with IB or IP's.
jonnycash 12-28-2005, 01:07 PM They are claiming that they have not seen ib 3800's over 1.18 v, I have smc's discharged at 35 amps that are 1.205v. Their info is incorrect

I have raced the Elite 3600 and found them to be a good cell for stock and maybe 19 turn. They don't have the run time for mod. The packs I have are unmatched and produce the same lap times as matched IB3800 in stock. I have not done a back to back comparison in 19 turn yet, maybe next week. For the price they can't be beat.
jonnycash-The voltages being compared are unzapped voltages. According to the discharge graph the Elites beat the IB3800.

patcollins 12-28-2005, 06:51 PM I don't know anything about the Elite 3600's but I do know that I buy all of my 1/18th scale batteries and airplane batteries from cheapbatterypacks and everything that they have said about the cells that I have bought from them has been right on the money.
NCFRC 12-28-2005, 11:48 PM I tried a set and was very impressed by the voltage as they av at 4.85 volts at 30 amps , -------BUT the runtime was terribly short, mid 3's , thats why the voltage was so high , sent back with no problems.
Yes , cheap batteries I've had overall very good product from.
Mike gives far above average service and great e-mail responses.
Just very hard to beat the current ib-3800's
His chp1650 AA cells are killers compared to any AA cell available at department stores, the only cell for a micro racer!
Z-Main Loser 12-29-2005, 01:39 AM Thanks for the info. I've been using IBs since the 3600s came out so I know all about what they are doing. Nothing I've seen puts out more power than the 3800s. I was just curious to see what the Elites would do under real conditions. Zapped, match at 35 amps. I'm guessing that the description was compared to the early date codes of the IB 3800s(1.177 av).
dave w 1 12-29-2005, 04:43 PM The Voltage Is Higher Because The Rutime Is Lower I Cant Believe People Still Fall For This Just Like Dead Shorting Ibs To 350 Sec At 4.88 Il Take A 415 Pack At 4.83
Any Day!
huffrcman 12-30-2005, 12:45 AM I have some 440+ runtime and 1.18+ unzapped.
I have some 440+ runtime and 1.18+ unzapped.
You are still lacking about 40+sec. of runtime, those numbers at 480 sec. would only be around a 1.16ish, way low
huffrcman 12-30-2005, 06:11 PM Did I say they were better??? Just posting what I have seen.
