As a fan of the ford gt-40 and ford gt cars I did not have to think twice about adding the white/blue superfast ford gt to my cart while Christmas shopping.

The weird thing...now that I've opened it(and a few other superfast),I think I dig the boxes more than the castings.

Even as a kid I loved those boxes!

Has anybody noticed that on the 1965 Ford Mustang #8 release, the box art has the rocker stripe on the car saying "Ford GT." Pretty wierd.

Everyone's confused. Remember JL labeled their GT club car as a GT Mustang. I even make the mistake all the time. To me a GT is a Mustang after spending all the 80's messing around with the Fox bodied Mustangs. Even though I know why Ford had to change the name; to me a GT should just be a new GT40.

I like the artwork on the boxes also. This artwork is one area where Matchbox is setting a standard of excellence that other makers should take notice.

Those new boxes are nice. That was one of the things that attracted me to Matchbox when I was a kid. My dad would take me to the only toy/hobby store in town (Baileys Toys) once a week where I could look at and maybe buy a new one. I remember the display case with all the boxes stacked behind. Funny thing, I must have liked the boxes 'cause I kept almost all of them! I even have some empty boxes too, must have lost the cars!
