This was sent for Christmas by our own slush-slinging elf, Joez!

I got some other pieces, but the home-brews ALWAYS stand out above the rest.

It’s mounted on an Afx-type Mag chassis and gives the perfect stance.

A real smooth piece, super clean with excellent build quality. The wheels are a great touch and the glass looks perfect. A great colour choice, too.

I had to share this with the other members!

Thank you very much for this very personal piece, Joe!

Happy Holidays to all—

Cheers..

Very Nice Indeed, Thanks for posting the pic Bossman... I have always had a weak spot for "chopped" Mercs. Joez does a great job (even if I only get to see his work from afar) :)

Hope you and yours had a Merry Christmas.

Looks great! Especially since it sits on a snapon chassis. Joez mentioned it was on the way to you during Wednesday's chat, really teased a couple of us that showed up early. Boss, you sure are getting some special builds in your collection. rr

Very cool job, Boss and Joez!
I hate to copy, but I want to do "full moons" on my Joez Merc. Did you buy those wheels or create them yerself? I'm gonna use a specialty chassis, and thot about hotrod wheels with some kinda disc installed, but havent found anything I like yet.
The silicones that slip on those wheels seem tall enuff, and there would be room to make a whitewall sticker to slap on em. Mine is also green---but I'll paint er!

Hey DAC-

I've done a few full moon cars, myself. I used the steel rear wheels from the old Tyco TCR's. The fronts are one-piece plastic--tire and rim, and are also full moon discs.

Hey guys!
Oh, how I wish I had this car in 1:1! *sigh* someday....heh...ok, I have recieved some Pms asking about the particulars of the merc so here goes.

The body is one of my resin-cast from the Dubs series, (no alterations) It is sitting on an xtrac chassis with chassis extension (no wheel-hangers in front) to accomodate the extended wheel-base.

The extension is the black plastic piece from any jl pullback chassis (fits neatly between the rails) that has been dremeled here and there for shoe-hanger clearance and shortened to the propper wheel-base. It was cross-drilled through the chassis front axle holes and pinned in place with a jl front pin-axle. Neat & clean.

Body is painted in krylon "rattler" hunter green, details in testors. Glass is a vac'd lexan from the original.

The moon discs are tyco TCR (cut from the odd rear alum wheels) and attached to tyco slim wheels.(ala turbotrain ect)

Thanks loads for the kind comments. It was a pleasure to build this car for Boss9!
(I HAD to send it to him. He has a good camera & mine makes fuzzy pics! How else was I going to get a good pic of the Merc onto HobbyTalk? LOL! j/k)
