I don't want to steer you wrong, but I've never used one in 19t or stock, never had a problem.

It won't hurt you to have one but you don't need one. a schottky diode is there to protect the esc during braking applications.

Brakes, when Would You Ever Want To Use Them???lol!!!

What is that little blue wire for on the quantum? Does it need to be hooked to anything?

The shotky diode should be used to help keep the speedcontrol cooler and operate more efficient.
Solder it across the speed control wire tabs instead of on the motor , what a pain ! and while your at it replace the wires with deans super 12 gauge wire, if you twist it tight it'll fit just fine in the solder holes.
1600+ strands just can't be beat for max amperage transfer.

Ive found that it makes a BIG difference in braking.. I hate to run it..But I do when Im at tracks where I feel a lot of brake may be necessary..
