View Full Version : quantum 2 esc. question schase427 12-25-2005, 11:02 PM any need for the schottky diode. 1/10 pan car oval 19 turn??? Mr.fastman 12-25-2005, 11:21 PM I don't want to steer you wrong, but I've never used one in 19t or stock, never had a problem. Doug P davepull 12-25-2005, 11:24 PM It won't hurt you to have one but you don't need one. a schottky diode is there to protect the esc during braking applications. schase427 12-25-2005, 11:36 PM Brakes, when Would You Ever Want To Use Them???lol!!! Thanks Scott Chase jonnycash 12-28-2005, 03:19 PM What is that little blue wire for on the quantum? Does it need to be hooked to anything? MIKE VALENTINE 12-28-2005, 03:28 PM jonny I think it's for the older fet servo's. davepull 12-28-2005, 05:38 PM mike is correct that is what is for. you can cut it off jonnycash 12-28-2005, 06:46 PM ok good... i never used it NCFRC 12-28-2005, 11:55 PM The shotky diode should be used to help keep the speedcontrol cooler and operate more efficient. Solder it across the speed control wire tabs instead of on the motor , what a pain ! and while your at it replace the wires with deans super 12 gauge wire, if you twist it tight it'll fit just fine in the solder holes. 1600+ strands just can't be beat for max amperage transfer. Kenwood 12-29-2005, 12:15 AM Ive found that it makes a BIG difference in braking.. I hate to run it..But I do when Im at tracks where I feel a lot of brake may be necessary.. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
