I'm starting this thread to survey interest in a new product. I have the opportunity to sell solid granite surface plates for R/C vehicles. I'm not sure yet about price, but they will be approx 1" thick, 17" long x 15" wide and very flat. Please either contact me via e-mail at eric@darksidems.com or just post to this thread if you are interested. I'll be able to give out price information very shortly for those interested. I think that I can offer these at a very economical price.

Granite is a nice thought.....but it is a little overkill for rc. Plus it's heavy. I would not want to lug that around from track to track. Maybe if you just use it for at home on the old rc work bench. Plexi-glass 1/2 inch thick is nice and lite, plus you can paint it from underneath with some cool graffix or like myself, take it to work and chuck it in the cnc and cut something underneath. Looks very trick.

These would not be intended to carry from track to track, due to weight. Yes plexi is a lot lighter, but it is no where as flat and durable as the granite.
