Have a peek at the two ERTL models that arrived today. First of all conny kits are ugly on most cars but on the 60 Starliner are just plain criminal. I did not notice it in the ebay pics and would not have bid if I did. A little surgery is in order here.

Look at the fit on the trunk and hood. That is the position they return to when you close them. Another ERTL that will require Gorilla glue to keep the parts in place. Then look at the detail on the chassis. They even got the "H" pipe on the exhaust correct. Forget the chassis get the panel fit right!

The Tbolt looks pretty good but will also require glue to keep the trunk closed.

These guys were stickered at $6.00 on the box and do at least come with a decent hard plastic display case. You can remove and repack them with no harm to the packing but I'd give that up for decent panel fit.

I've never had any trouble of any kind with Ertl die-cast, but my experience with them is very little.

I've got their silver 60 Starliner and my hood and trunk open and close fine. However the trailing edge of the trunk does not 'meet' the top of the rear bumper piece the way it really should. I do wish JL would come out with this model.

Well that's 3 out of 5 needing glue in my limited experience. I'll keep buying and gluing as long as the Galaxies are not available from JL.

That's pretty bad. I only have a few ertl 1/64s,and they seem to be OK.

I have at least a dozen of those Starliners . (several customs & repaints) . Dont remember any having the hood fit problem like yours . I removed the connie kit on most of the red ones I bought too . The red one is the only one that has it . The silver , blue & black ones dont have it . The others also use dog dish wheels , where the red one has full hubcaps . The RT66 Starliner is all white , & was much harder to find than the Ertl versions .

Your 64 Fairlane is neat too !

My red starliner seems to be ok. My white T-bolt like yours has the trunklid problems and the hood looks a little tweaked also

Thanks for the info. I was not going to look for more colors because of the conny kit.
