Hi, does anyone have a B&S L head manual for engines built before 1981 in PDF format? I have the one for engines built after 1981 (not PDF or even scanned). I have a 130212-0764 built in 1977. I'm looking for valve specs (tappet clearance etc.). Are the specs the same for engines built after 1981?

owners manual? the owners manual should have the clearances... check the briggs website

I have a copy of the "Briggs Check Chart" It lists all the specs for current engines.
Including valve clearances, torque specs and journal wear rejection sizes.
