Since so many of you guys already have the GFX Turbo 35 I am sure someone has used the RS-232 DB-9 connector on the side of the charger to connect the charger to a laptop. My laptop is ancient and doesn't have a USB port, but has a serial port. So I'm thinking that using a serial cable (if you can find one these days!) will enable me to dump the charge and discharge data into Excel. Sound like a plan? If any of you have done this, what do I need to do to be able to receive the data from the charger. :freak:

Dont know if this will help or not, but just go to th CE website and download the updated manual...link for it at the bottom of the screen. About half way thru the manual it tells you what you need and what it will do. You can still find a 232 cable at Radio Shack. Get a straight thru when you pick it up.
Hope that helps...

Over the holiday I picked up a cable at Radio Shack (home of the dumbest employees on the planet) and hooked it up using Hyperterminal and it worked pretty good. I imported the data into excel and was able to make some good comparisons from one battery to another. It looks like this could be a good tool to use to evaluate your batteries and charging methods. The radioshack part number is 27-117 and the link to it is

Thanks for the help.
