We would like to welcome all the Northeast and Canadian carpet oval racers to CRC's Raceway's 10th Annual New Year Dash. Yes.. 10 full years of some classic battles on the carpet.

Past winners include; Pete D'Agnolo, Mike Murphy, Todd Putnam, Mike McMahon, Brian Ziegler, Marty Peters, Steve Miller, Bill Osborne, Hauenstien, Billy Kimpton, Mike Conkey, Tom Postalwait, Johnny Whopper and Frank Calandra.

We have a club race Saturday night with the Dash on Sunday, January 8th 2006. Our race is a "low dough show" with the first entry just $15 and $10 for additional entries. If you run the club race on Saturday, the first class is only $10. A ton of racing for a low price.

For 2006, CRC Raceway has install new Fasttrak carpet used at the Snowbirds, Cleveland, Sand Hills and Vegas. We also use Snowbirds-style "ICE" for the infield. Grip will be high and the racing action should be fast.

After talking to a some of the Northeast racers, quite a few drivers have confirmed they will be here. Possibly the fastest oval racer in the country, Pete D'Agnolo has confirmed he will be here to defend his title. Also, 1/10th Stock defending Champ Bill Osborne from RIP Motorsports in PA will be in the house. Look for a good turnout from the CRC locals as Monday night oval racing has been very strong at the track. Top weekly racers Pemberton, Winnicki and Firsching, Calandra will be here. Probables are Murphy, Corradi, Zeigler, Fissler and Miller. It should be another awesome "Rumble in Rome".

Practice Saturday, Jan 7 from 1 - 5, club racing will follow Saturday night. Practice Sunday morning 8 til 10:45. must be signed in by 10:30. We use RC Scoring Pro with both personal and house transponders.

For more information, go to www.crcraceway.com (http://www.crcraceway.com).

10 Years!!! WOW I have been talking to all of the boys and it looks like this is going to be a who's who of the Northeast oval racing scene.

Pete D'Angnolo (Bring it on Pete.....I want a rematch!!)
Steve Miller (The Legend returns!!)
Jake Fleurer (Could it be?? Is it true?? The Godfather of Aerodynamics!! It'll be a busy day in tech!!)
John Filser (The Lathem Legend!! The Pemberton/Filser grudge match continues...)
Bill Osborne (The Doctor of RIP and the whole RIP team from PA)
Mike Murphy (Rumors are flying of the Champ's return. Pemberton is licking his chops)
Joe Coradi ( Another Lathem superstar makes his return)

Local Favorites confirmed are Frank Calandra, Mark Calandra, Joel Winnicki, Steve Pemberton, Johnny Whopper, Tommy Firsching....

As always this is the one race each year where the best of the Albany area meet head-to-head with the best of Rochester. Now the PA boys are joining the fight in big numbers. This should be a ball!!
Look forward to seeing everyone!!

Its a shame this race ison the same week end as the Roar Regional for region 1 in York Maine....

A real shame indeed. Someone here on Hobbytalk had it posted in August in the Northeast Carpet Oval Summary thread. Why would another race in the Northeast be placed on that same date, I have NO idea.

The New Year Dash is in it's 10th year. We have picked the same date for the last 10 years. With holidays falling the way they do this year, this is the first time that our race is actually the weekend after the holidays. However, 10 years ago we decided to risk running on the weekend between the Holidays. With that in mind, we can say right now that for 2006/2007, the New Year Dash will be Dec 29/30 2006 weekend.

For this year, we expect another great race, ROAR Regional or not. Talking to many of the NY, PA, CT, VT and Canada drivers, this year will be great as well as many have already committed to be here.

New carpet, we worked on the floor, new scoring software. No membership fee requirded, very affordable race entry fee. We are ready to rock.

There will be plenty of 10th cars too. 10th stock was a big class last year. I would expect there to be more 19T this year as well.

I guess we can add 2 big names to the list:

Mark Smyka
John Hauenstein (HHH)

This will be the strongest 12th scale field you will see at any race!!!!!!!

And 10th scale should be awesome too!! What do you guys want to run for 10th scale. Stock 10th should be big as always....but is anyone up for 19T...... Mod might be a little crazy but I'm game!!
We've gotta do something about Hauenstein's 10th 19T track record.....its been on the wall for about 3 years now!! LOL

Look forward to seeing you guys and Merry Christmas!!

Hey Brandon & Joe Ivo,

The class info and hotel info are on the flyer which is on page 1 of this thread about halfway down the page. The is an oval race only, Joe, no on-road. Of course, from the oval battles you and I have had at Marshalls, one could say it looked like an on-road race!! LOL.

Steve

If anyone has a pit table of their own, it would be a good idea to bring it with you. We have some tables here, but they usually fill up fast. We will have plenty of space set aside for people to bring their own tables.

We do have extra chairs, but are a little short on tables. If you are running out of space in your car, and it's a toss up between bringing a table or a chair - bring the TABLE! we'll find you chair. but, if you have room for both, that would be good too.

Also, don't forget an extension cord, and power strip.
