View Full Version : ROAR Body Approval
Rickity Racer 12-19-2005, 06:45 PM Dawn;
I was looking at the ROAR site and the approved body list. I noticed that many bodies have an expiration date for approval and have to be resubmitted? If a company doesn't resubmit a body, does that mean it won't be legal in ROAR races until it is?? Many of these bodies are still made, but are ready to expire on 12/31/05.
Thanks, Don
Dawn Sanchez 12-19-2005, 06:49 PM I am not fully versed in our body approval rules but I will assure you, I'm about to be. Please give me a day or so to answer this question?
Thanks!

There's no rush. I just noticed the expiration date and wondered what it meant. I know at times I have been "hard" on you, but I want to personally Thank You for being one of the few from ROAR that will answer our questions.
Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Don
Dawn Sanchez 12-20-2005, 02:33 PM Don, thank you! That means quite a bit to me coming from you!!
My limited understanding of our rules is bodies are approved for three years, I think... and then, must be resubmitted for approval once again. Not sure if I'm correct on that before anybody goes off on that one... LOL
Excomm is meeting next month so if I don't receive the answers I'm looking for, I'll have everybody face to face and will be finding out. :)
davepull 12-20-2005, 06:00 PM hey dawn thanks for all you do. you take alot of crap but what i like is you try to get the answers. thanks again

Wow.. I opened this one up with my eyes squinting and my back slightly turned to the screen in horror of what DavePull was gonna say to me next......
LOL
And, just gotta say, I love Christmas!! People are so nice! ;)
I'll get back soon on this one... problem is as soon as I ask, am I gonna get an entire list of bodies deleted from the list and how many folks are gonna get TICKED off?? LOL
Dawn Sanchez 12-27-2005, 07:48 PM Christmas is over and I will pursue the question this week. I'll be back to let you know.
:)
Dawn Sanchez 12-28-2005, 01:08 PM The ROAR rule put in place just a few years ago states bodies on the approval list are there for three years. The reason for this was the list was so long with bodies outdated several years ago, it keeps a clean database.
The current bodies on the list now will each have the MFG contacted this month to verify if the body should remain or not. Those bodies can stay on the list with positive communication from the MFG back to the ROAR Technical Director, WITHOUT a fee to resubmittal.
I hope I answered the question for you. ;)
burbs 01-07-2006, 10:21 AM I belive it is a 5 year aproval.. cause in 2004 for the paved nats alot of guys ran the 99 pontiac.. they said it was the last year it would be legal..
Dawn Sanchez 01-07-2006, 12:00 PM Nope, three.. :)

Just beware if you are running one of the above bodies at a Roar race they are not approved!!! I planned on running one on that list, guess I will find something else.
Dawn Sanchez 03-12-2006, 07:09 PM If you notice in the last RevUP, ROAR has sent letters to the MFG's with bodies that have expired to request they resubmit them at no charge or respond to delete them in full. This letter went out in late January and we are giving them some time to respond.
As for the bodies that have expired, I would suggest contacting Kenny Bergschultz at kenny@team1rc.com to verify the usage status prior to going to a ROAR event.
Although, many, many new bodies have been submitted and are now on the list for you to use.
