Sad, the guy was a great character actor. I never watched West Wing, but used to like him on LA Law. He was good in Presumed Innocent and The Rock as well.

He was great on West Wing. He was another of the best, that has left us.

I remember him as the CIA Director in 'The Rock'.

RIP.

Heck, I even remember him from his bit part at the beginning of "Wargames" when he just couldn't turn the missile arming key.

Last year on West Wing his character had a near-fatal heart attack. Truly strange and sad. He always struck me as older than he was (58) with his whisky voice and curmudgeonly attitude. I always liked his roles.

He'll be missed. Only 58. Way too young :(
