View Full Version : Ugly little suckers
Galaxieman 12-16-2005, 09:40 AM I have a question, does anyone else keep a few "ugly little suckers" around simply because they are too ugly to get rid of? If so how about showing them to us. Two views with different lighting to see which is best.
Galaxieman 12-16-2005, 09:49 AM I just remembered these three that I have had since the train platform days of the 1940s. State of the art back then.
free spirit 12-16-2005, 10:20 AM the top picture they are ugly l.o.l.

Actually, if those top guys are pull-back cars, I collect those. The red mini is nothing but the other three remind me a bit of the Choro Q line. What do they say on the bottom?
free spirit 12-16-2005, 10:32 AM this is one car that i dont care for that is ugly ,
my husband has a bad habit of putting an ugly car in the background when im taking pictures and i never notice it l.o.l. but bumungous the buick in the background is one that is ugly .

the three old cars are indeed Renwals.

They are pull backs but have nothing molded into the bottom. They do, of course, have the gold "Made in China" label. I really like to look at them but when I get ready to have them migrate to a new home you will be first in line to adopt.

..which is truer to it's real color..?

Truth is neither one is very close. It is much greener than either picture shows.

Oh don't worry about that. I do collect real Choro Q from Japan and those just reminded me of them. They are probably Chinese knock-offs. I have over 500 different Choro Q.
stevbike 12-17-2005, 10:22 AM I like the two model scenes. The snow scene is very nice!! I to am beginning to like the HHR. For me at least, it nice to look at something sticls a bit from the crowd.
free spirit 12-17-2005, 10:31 AM thanks for your compliments the reason i dont like the H.H.R. is i got 4 in a case and no hummers l.o.l. but the kids liked them i kept just that one .
accobra64 12-18-2005, 12:44 AM Free spirit, that snow scene diorama is awesome.
Snow on the railing. Snow on the SUV behind the HHR. Is it a Cadillac Escalade?
And the street looks real. Some local traffic and some ruts starting to appear.
Well done!
Cheers. Cobra
Eurosport94 12-18-2005, 12:03 PM yeah very nice dioramas!!!! it seems to me that i'll buy some cars(like a JL import heat) and couple weeks later i'll say its uglier than sin and want nothing less than to get rid of it
and btw, what did you use to make that snow? and what car is covered with it
GO-GTO 12-18-2005, 06:03 PM After I get tired of ugly ducklings they go to the Thrift store to find a more appreciative home.
