Do I need to take off my pullstart or rotostart or easystart if I use a starter box?
Do I need to cap the back end of the engine and take out the one way?
Starters are driving me crazy
rustler(new one way)
tmaxx(new engine)
T-maxx conversion w/xtm 24.7(busted one way)
ofna pirate hyper 21(busted pull start)
What starter would work for all these? any? all?
can' even use one on a t-maxx can you?
12v or 2x 7.2v
is the power panel? worth it or stick w/igniter

Yes to the first 2 ?'s Ofna has different starter boxes. I personally like the power panel. you don't have to keep looking for the ignitor.plus you can adjust it to make the plug glow how you want. I Like the 12 volt. Bigger motors. look for one with twin motors. I do not know if one starter will do all of those. Some times you have to get different motor mounts to drop the engine lower for the starter box. Part # 10249 Ofna 1/8th offroad 12 volt with power panel.

hey rcateball, ya take off the pullstart and get a cover for that motor so no dirt gets in there! and you will need a motor mount for a nonpullstart and a flywheel for a non pullstart . the motor mount is not as tall so it will let the flywheel come farther out the bottom and the flywheel is thicker so it wont tear up your starterbox wheel.

well one is on the way, we'll see how she works. the "guy at hobby store told me all I need to do is take out the one way. Seems like dirt would get in the engine though?? I've never heard of wide fly wheel??

I see no reason to take off the pullstart unless you want it off. Your car will start just fine with the one-way and pullcord attached.
I had a ofna/ power panel and it was the best box I've ever had.
Go with the 12v as it lasts a whole day of racing. With the power panel there will be no more worries about dead glow ignitor batterys.
