For any LORD OF THE RINGS fans in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, two theaters are showing the trilogy over the holidays. The Oak Street Cinema (http://www.mnfilmarts.org/oakstreet/calendar_detail.php?id=348&day=2005-12-13) is showing it from Dec. 26 through Jan 5. Tickets are $8 for one film, $3 for any additional screenings.
The Riverview Theater (http://www.riverviewtheater.com/index.cfm) has one showing of all three films on Jan 2. The information isn't up on their website yet, but they sent me an e-mail with details. Admission is $8 for all three films or $3 for an individual one.
The Riverview screening is definitely the theatrical, not the extended, version. From the times on the Oak Street schedule, I assume they also have the theatrical version. The Riverview is the better theater and certainly the better value for the money, if you can get in.
