Hadn't used it for awhile so after reading your post I went and tried it. It doesn't even connect. Don't know whats up, maybe they got caught up in the illeagle downloading stuff?

It started getting impossible to download from there. No one was sharing. I use Limewire now, though I don't use it too often. I just use it to get songs I can't find anywhere else.

WinMX used to be free. Now they charge to use it. I paid a one time fee (like $25 I think) for lifetime unlimited use and have been using it for about 6 months since having to pay for it. I had alot of trouble with Kazaa. Haven't tried limewire though.

Here's the deal...WinMX used to be free. You won't be able to connect. You have to go to http://www.winmxunlimited.com (http://www.winmxunlimited.com/) It is $27.00 for lifetime unlimited use. It works great, it's not a gimmick. (I thought it might have been when I first saw it). Make up an email and name to see payment options if you don't want to use your real email and name.

I have about 100 music downloads. Never had a single problem with winmx. Have used it for years.
