Im working on getting details from tom...Last I heard it was thursday/friday practice...then SAT AM practice>>>Then sat 3 quals>>>sunday 1 qual and mains... at the last big race the quals started @ 1 on sat...he opened at 7:30 ...so there was a lot of time.

Hurricane Racer

I thought, at the Dec 10 race, he mentioned 4 quals on Saturday, last chance 5th qual on Sunday, and then the mains? Someone mentioned they heard 1 fri night, 3 sat and 1 sun.. not sure to the validity of that...

Since the IP Cells are illegal at the snowbirds this year are they going to be allowed to run at this snowbird warm up???????

Your right...LOL... That was my mistake...I just remembered there was 1 sunday qual.. I did not make it down to the track this week due to some family concerns...Hopefully Tom or J-fo will come out with some official answers..

IP cells Im not sure... My guess is that they will be allowed..I mean its a warmup BUT to my knowledge you dont have to run ultrabirds or trinity stock motors either...Again thats my GUESS as I was unable to make the gathering the other day where those issues could have been discussed.

you would get more racers if you ran the IB cells only

IP cells are faster, but since they are not legal at snowbirds
i know most people aren't going to buy batts just for the warm-up race just to compete.

I don't care what you do I will race anyway. (I need the practice)

see ya then

Jason>>I agree...But I dont run the track nor do I have anything to do with decision making.. I guess thats between J-Fo and Tom on what they do..

I only have IB3800's myself so truse me...NO IP's would be fine with me.. :)

The I.P.'s were legal at the last race so why wouldn't they be legal for this one.Their is only two races that the I.P.'s are'nt legal Cleavland and the birds. Both Trinity races makes you wonder.

I just figured since it is a SNOWBIRD WARM UP it would go by SNOWBIRD rules. I'll be there either way....

OK the signup form is available now..

http://www.jlapracemanager.com/cgi-bin/Jl_Signup%20Form.asp?Where=TheWorld&EMail=tcohen@theworldofhobbies.com

you have to click on the Actual event you want to run...they have the form setup for multiple events..

UNLESS its changed this signup does not require you to PAY untill the event... What this is for is so we can get your info into the system before the event and PLAN accordingly for table/chair/etc requirements for the event... So if you plan on running please per register..

Can you clarify the schedule for the weekend?

At the last race I think you mentioned open practice Thurs/Friday and qual/race Saturday/Sunday?

If its still open, I guess my idea would be run practice Thur/Fri -- 4 qual on Saturday, 1 on Sunday morning (prompt!) then mains following. If we can do that and be out around 2 or 3, that gives us out-of-staters plenty of time to travel home. Just my $.02 though!

Practice will be Thursday and Friday. I will close the shop at Midnight.

Saturday we will open at 7am (as I posted). We will do 4 rounds of Qualifying. We will have open practice will Midnight.

Sunday I will open the doors at 8am. We will Start Racing at 11:30am.

Yes We will run brushless. Yes I will allow the Red Batteries. It is a Snowbirds warm up, but I do not want to follow all the rules. Especially the ones I think might be strange.

Agreed on the no snow deal...Id like to see Florida like temps for that race...to help prepare me for the birds.. also some hooters girls... the snowbirds site says hooters girls will be at the track...I feel we should do the same.. he he he..

sean....for true preparation for the 'birds you should avoid more than 2 hours sleep per night and begin a daily routine of 250 grit sandpaper on the eyeballs. once you've gone a week or so like this...practice running laps within a tenth for 4 minutes @ 3:45 in the morning....now we're getting somewhere. :) in all reality it's the coolest thing to go to..but it will wear you down by the end of the week.

Also how much is the entry for this race?

Thanks

Not sure on the entry fee... Ill check and post back when I get the answer...

Pics... I know we have taken pics of it...Im just not sure if anything is on-line... If youve been there before its the SAME as the track before EXCEPT it sits about 6" higher off the ground and is pool table smooth. Ill snap a pic of it if I cant find someone who already has one... The website pics dont show the oval configuration...

All new pitting area that will easily hold well over 120 ...With new electric..

If your going to birds this is the track you want to run on to get ready in the midwest..

You can find me there almost every Wednesday either before my meeting or after. Sometimes both. Our office meeting went relatively late so I was in about 5 last night. It looks like the new area will be done in time for the big race but even worse case scenario you could pit guys there today if you had to. Do you know what the plan is for weekly racing? Is he going to have people in one area or just let them spread out all over?

Kenwood
01-05-2006, 02:12 PM
I believe all the tables will be moved to the new area>>>Then for big races it will spread out back to the old area if needed.... I believe the gaming area will be moved into the old area....But ts all subject to change of course...He threw out a few different scenarios...BUT for racers weekly youll be in the new area...Which is better for getting to the drivers stand anyway..

I ran this the last big race and also yesterday.

black-rf
white-lf
pearl-lr
white-right rear

This combo is very good and consistent.
