Other than the blue glass and funky wheels that came on the BAT9, the boys at HW hit a major homerun. I mean, I really could find very little to do to bring this one to specs. When I first saw it, I figured paint it red and put a clover on it. Huh-uh. Not even that. I looked it up on line and came up with the pics I posted in the "collectors section." Included the BAT9 1:1 pick here as well. I was kinda disapointed even the right color! I really did think it would'a looked good red. I did get two more this afternoon and am going to try, repeat TRY and make the BAT5 and BAT7 from these. I like this casting so much I even sacrificed a JL E-Type for the wheels. Of course I have plans to make an SCCA Group 44 Jag out of the dismembered "E." The only other thing I could do was to put a better tail pipe on it and some minor detail work. OH! Thanks "Honey Clause" for the new digital camera. The pics even give me a rush.

Yeah....That's the little one at Pebble Beach  ;)
The wheels came off one of the Johnny Lightning British Invasion? E-Type Jags. I've already got the decals made to make an SCCA Group 44 Jag Production Car. Just couldn't bring myself to break it open 'til the BAT needed the wheels.

I've been thinking of doing another D50 and see if it had any takers on TheBay. I'm gearing up to try a BAT 5 & 7. Still trying to figure if its possible.
Nice job!
I think I saw a red B.A.T. car in a car magazine decades ago that was finished in Italian red. Maybe it was just a production mid-50s Alfa coupe I recall, but red is a great colour for the B.A.T. anyway. Go for it!

Maybe somewhere down the line I may do a red one. What you may have seen was an Alfa/Bertone Giuletta Super Sprint. I only have a side view of it but I can see many of the BAT9's lines in it. Less the rear fins. But it would look like what I'd think was derived from the BAT program and applied to the street. I'd have to do a little surfing to find some more pics of that one. The 3 BATS were all that were made. From the Motor Trend text they were all some sort of silver in color.
