MADISON WI 2006
MARCCA is looking to host LARGE OVAL RACE
Please visit www.marcca.com and go the the discussion area. In the discussion area you will see a post titled "OVAL at MARCCA - Most Likely Dates??" VOTE IN THE POLL
Please leave your feedback as to what date you would like to see an oval race at MARCCA. The first date for 2006 looks to be in February once I cross referenced the WB Race dates and the large races mentioned by Neil in prior posts.
If you would prefer the race be held on Friday Night as a stand alone event PLEASE post that in the discussion area.
Thanks
Jon

Hurricane Racer 02-15-2006, 11:56 AM Jason, how big is the track?
Big enough for brushed 19t?

yuk17bandit 02-17-2006, 09:13 PM I know this isn’t the classifieds , call it a free bump, is anyone attending this race have an extra pan car tire arbor for a integy truer that they would sell me, I’ll pay new price.
After ordering one from my LHS 2 weeks ago, they finally tell me today that there backordered until the end of March. “Nice timing”, so before I order else ware I thought maybe I could luck out here first. PM here or teamdezz@charter.net
Thanks
Brian

burbs 02-19-2006, 09:46 AM Had a great time one saturday.. the track was very different ad took a bit of getting used to.. it was shaped kind of like a baseball diamond.. one wide sweeping turn, and one sort of sharp turn...
Skom Tq'd
shwanbeck 2nd
burbs 3rd
hicks
and butch i belive
finishing order was
butch
skom
burbs
hicks
shwanbeck
brian (bump up)
in the main skom got the jump, and after a lap or so i was in second.. i was pressuring him pretty good, and he hit the pipe and moved out of the way and i snuck by.. I had the lead for a while, with butch right on my butt.. I eventually taged the pipe just as skom did exept my car shot into pit lane, allowing butch to go by.. Paul and skom got into a tangle which set them back as well.. i was in second and butch in first.. a few laps later i tapped the pipe again going into the pit lane again LOL.. skom got by and i dropped to 4th.. butch pretty much checked out, but skmo and myself were charging hard.. we made up good time after that and the top three finished less then a second apart.. great close racing..
had a great time, only a little over an hour drive.. hope to make it back for the next one..
Hurricane Racer 02-19-2006, 10:00 AM Ill second the comments, had a great time as well Saturday. Sort of a relaxing day of racing, with no pressure!
And chalk it up, only the second time I finished in front of P.S.! It only takes a few times before it becomes common! heh
As you said, its a "different" track layout, but fun.
The trucks were a blast to watch, and they really hurt when they hit you.
Hopefully next year we can market this race as a "Brushless warmup" and get a larger crowd.

wiscentral52 02-19-2006, 12:41 PM Cody and I had a great time as well. Even with the little problems we had. One thing that I would like to see before they hold another oval race, is get rid off the infield pipes!!!!!
