Got this 11 HP Briggs engine on my pressure washer.
Briggs Model 161432 Type 002901 Code 93031133
Pressure washer engine. All of a sudden I need a "lot" of choke to keep this thing running. The mixture screw doesn't have any effect. I will certainly value your opinions. Carb Kit, Complete Carb valves, or???
Thanks,

how old is it? anyway, it was stored properly? it very well could have gotten water in the carb, take the fuel bowl off, (if you have a fuel shut off valve, use it or crimp the fuel line, but let it go real quick to make sure fuel is flowing) drain the bowl, clean it out with carb cleaner, put it back together and see if it helps..... as for the adjustment needle, 1.5 turns out from snug, then fine tune when warmed up.

The carb is probably 10 years old. Run regularly. No water in the bowl, float is intact. What puzzles me is that the adjustment needle has no effect. I had used carb cleaner when the problem started. The cleaning had no effect.

10 years old, well a little cleaning may not help then.....does it have a in-line fuel filter? i'd go ahead, and take the carb apart and soak it in carb cleaner, get a gasket kit as well........ maybe try to first take the little straw that comes with the can of cleaner, use it and spray it hard up where the high speed jet/bowl nut goes.

Make sure that the intake gasket behind the carb is not deteriorated. If it is, it can suck air behind the carb and make it run pretty bad.

ah yeah, forgot about the intake gasket, they can deteriorate over time, cause a air leak and the air/fuel mixture will be messed up.
