For the spray-jobs, I just use reg'lar old krylon rattle cans. Detail work is handled by Testors.

Me too. I get the car painted the colors, then clearcoat. Next the decals because sometimes the clearcaot can be too hot for the decals (depending on what or whos they are). After the decals have setup for a night or so, I dip the body in Future to protect the decals. Usually do two coats of Future for that extra level of protection. Since I started doing it this way, haven't screwed up any of my decal applications. rr

I use thinned Polly S Acrylics or Krylon, depends if I have enough deatail to do undercoats.

Use decal set testors does the trick before you clearcoat to keep them from curling. and doing weird things on you, and always preset the decals before you use any clear coat to make sure the colors do not run. ( You can avoid this by buying from a few really good decal makers. I use Patto's pretty much for everything.)

I use Model Car World paint. It's a lacquer so it dries fast to make multi-color paint jobs a snap. It's real automotive paint matched to the same colors used by the manufactures or race teams as the case might be. It's available in both spray and airbrush ready bottles in 3/4 oz , 2 oz, and pint size cans. For clear coat, the absoulte best you can buy right now is the NEW Testors autuomtive lacquers Clear top coat. It will blow your socks off with the shine you get right out of the can. It won't make up for poor body prep or bad paint job.

I seal my decals with Future also. If's it a "warm" color,Testors Glosscote works very nice. Do not use it over white or "cool" (not Kewl) as the yellow tinge changes the color.

Try Rustoleum "Painter's Touch". Goes on nice and smooth and dries quickly.

This is a great place to find a wide assortment of "true" colors for cars that you would like to replicate. Even have colors for quite a few of the old Grand National Stockers from the early days. Have been pleased with their paints too.

Not to sure about their listing now. They used to have them specified like Petty Blue (old), Skoal geen and so on. Guess you need to get the guide now. :freak:
