Any opinions on this movie?

My opinion is that I have no interest in seeing it.

The movie isn't being screened for critics before its release. This is never a good sign.

I was a fan of the cartoon so I'll probably, more than likely going to see this movie.

The creator of Aeon Flux stated this is not the movie he wished to have seen made.

I'm rather surprised that an actress like Charlize Thereon would get involved in any project that was headed for critical and perhaps box-office disaster.

What we have here is a failure of imagination. That's why it's wrong for these producers to have gotten a hold of this movie. A good porn producer would've had a blast making this.

At a con back in the 80's there was a woman in a Vamparella costume that used so much spirt gum, the costume looked like it was soaking wet. :lol:

Animated films never make money. I mean, just look at Finding Nemo, Shreck, Ice Age etc. All bombs.

Charlize was on Letterman the other night and they showed a clip. Believe me, for all intents and purposes this is an animated film. In the clip they aired - Charlize and another actress were the "real" objects in the frame - they were "flying" through the use of cables - and the entire environment around them - sky, grass, structures - was cartoonish CGI.

if anybody saw the thing talisa soho wore because she thought vampirellas comic book costume was slutty, you know why actors shouldnt be able to make these desicions.

i have grave doubts. aeon flux was a series of disjointed adventures, the climax of each being her death. stretching it into a 90 minute narrative,,,,, sorry, nope.
also a lot of its appeal was its visual style and nobody, not even the remarkable ms theron is built like that.

Not old enough, and too anorexic. Motoko is a mature woman, probably in her mid-30s. She's a major in the security forces, after all. Of course, since her body is 100% artificial, she appears to be younger. S she could be played by someone 25-30.

I don't recall it ever being said how or when she decided to go fully cyborg. In the future society of the series, almost everone in the world has elected to have SOME kind of cybernetic alteration, especially remote mental net connection.

In the original animated Aeon Flux wasn't she.......a..........playing the other side of the fence...so to speak.

Just saw it. Not that bad. I haven't seen the MTV series, so went in with no clue. Better than I thougth it was going to be and better than "Ultra Violet" - though I do have a soft spot for Milla...

In the last GitS, The guy with the robot eyes says to Motoko, 'why do you keep getting a female body?'. Makes think she was a guy. [shiver]

She became a full cyborg as a child after a serious accident that destroyed
most of her body. For a more indepth account watch the second season
episode with the crippled boy who makes origami (?) cranes. It is never
stated in the episode but the clues are there rather clearly.

The male body thing was just Batou ribbing her. I think the general idea
being the male bodies probably are constructed more ruggedly and have
a greater augmented strength. She is female though.
