View Full Version : Cincinnati WOH
amainiac 11-23-2005, 08:51 AM The World of Hobbies and Games http://www.theworldofhobbies.com/ is sponsoring an oval race December 10 with proceeds going to Toys for Tots. If you haven't raced at WOH, the track is 50 x 80 with a 16' infield (about 170' runline) and smooth as a pooltable.
Here's a post from the track owner, Tom.
The Toy's for Tots race will be December 10. December 9 is open for practice all day. We will open our doors booth days at 7am.
I know there has been some discussion about paragon at all my big races. We typically do not allow paragon. I do not want my local guys to feel like they are buying something that they will use once or twice a year. I will stock paragon for you at a very reduced rate. You will have to be signed up to get the discount. It should be 40-50% cheaper, around 4 bucks. You do not have to buy it. I am not sure it will really help all that much, but some of the out of town racers wanted to be able to use it. It may help early in the day, but I imagine you will be switching back to niftec for the later rounds.
All day friday will be practice. Open at 7am.
Saturday open at 7am racing will start at 2pm.
We will do 4 qual rounds.
Classes:
Oval Stock.
Oval 19T
Oval Brushless 5800 Novak
Oval Open Mod
The race entry fee will be 30 dollars.
Prizes and trophies will be given out to the top 3 a-main and first in the b-main.
Prizes will be a pro3/Possibly a KSG. Tires......
The proceeds will go to toys for tots. I will match 1/2 the race entry fees.
Lets help give the tots a great Christmas!
Mr.fastman 11-23-2005, 08:13 PM Sounds like a fun event and a good cause.

Danny B 11-24-2005, 01:28 AM We'll be there bright and early Friday!
A few years back the Toys For Tots race at HT-Indy was a great event. Hopefully, this could become that!
Kenwood 11-24-2005, 05:04 PM Man this is KILLING me... LOL... I waste my last 2 vacation days of the year at ovalmasters... Now everyone is showing up locally And Ill be a day behind...LOL.. Oh well I guess if Ive not figured the track out by now I never will...LOL
kevjoh 11-28-2005, 01:03 PM Just 2 weeks away!!!!!!!
MikeM 11-28-2005, 09:24 PM Is there a flyer with hotel numbers any where?
Kenwood 11-28-2005, 10:03 PM I dont know if Tom or John made a flier or not...However from a different post here about the same race..
here is what Mark Recio Posted...
"Motel 6 off of Hauck Rd. is 29.99 a night for the dec 10 race...u get what u pay for however
Holiday Inn on Hauck Rd. is $71
Holiday Inn Express on Dowlin is $77
Days Inn US 42 is $41.39
Bring the wives, the area's largest malls are within 5 and 15 minutes of the track!"
There are many more in the area>>>But those listed above are literally seconds from the track... There are TONS of hotels in the area because of all the plants/businesses near by.. Plus plenty of stuff to do in the immediate area as well..
Mark Recio 11-29-2005, 11:11 AM Should be a great time guys! Anyone up for 1/12th scale?
Kenwood 11-29-2005, 11:19 AM What class for 12th?? 19 t ?? open mod??? Ill have to see if I can dust off my 12th scale this week..My only rub with 12th scale is that I dont have any NASCAR style 12th scale bodies...I have a nastruck and some GTP style.. If I can get it together I may run it.. I think Tim has a 12th scale too... Let me check with some of the others and see..
Mark Recio 11-29-2005, 11:21 AM 19 would be best. I think that would generate the most entries. BTW, What is the cost for a second entry?
Kenwood 11-29-2005, 11:23 AM Ill ask tom tonight when Im at the track... If i enter 12th that will be my third class...LOL
kevjoh 11-29-2005, 11:51 AM 3 classes for Kenwood- Daggs!!!!
I'm still debating on running 2 classes!!???
Kenwood 11-29-2005, 12:04 PM I said maybe...depends what my 12th scale looks like... Ive still got 3 chargers..and enough batts...why not...lol
UPDATE ON PARAGON... Make sure to bring it if you have it>>>sounds like the shop is having trouble getting it...here is what tom posted on his site..
"I have been informed that Paragon is very hard to get currently. All distribution points are out. Horizon and GP. If you can find it buy it. I am currently trying other means, but do not rely on the shop to have it. We are struggling to find it."
Kevin Koback 11-30-2005, 12:26 AM I think it's a conspiracy...LOL Next you know, there will be a shortage of TQ, but plenty of Niftech available!! I hope you know, I'm just kidding. Looks like the Dec race is shaping up to be tough field of cars!
Mark Recio 11-30-2005, 12:29 AM Kevin Kaback runs a 4.0......
MK Race 11-30-2005, 01:16 AM How's the stock class? Names?
Kenwood 11-30-2005, 09:00 AM I think it's a conspiracy...LOL Next you know, there will be a shortage of TQ, but plenty of Niftech available!! I hope you know, I'm just kidding. Looks like the Dec race is shaping up to be tough field of cars!
KEVIN... I was up there last night>>>>>LOOKING FOR NIFFTECH... They had NONE.. WTF happened to all of it...there must have been 50 bottles on saturday..I think you bought it up and are planning to sell in the parking lot for inflated prices.
Kenwood 11-30-2005, 09:02 AM Kevin Kaback runs a 4.0......
Man its not Kevin Kaback>> Its Kevin Kollick.. At least thats what the announcer Mary calls him...LOL
Kenwood 11-30-2005, 01:20 PM Oh and on the 12th scale deal... IM OUT.. Man I blew the dust off of that thing..and to say it needs a lot of attention is an understatement.. I forgot that I disassembled the car completely and boxed it to sell and left it sit.. LOL.. I wont have time to build it and get it goiing for this race..
Shane Mugavin 11-30-2005, 10:15 PM Should be a great time guys! Anyone up for 1/12th scale?
I went ahead and posted on the woh site on the onroad section that some of you were wanting to run 12th, Their are quite a few onroad guys that run oval and I think some that would run oval for this race. I think their will probably be enough for a class if your interested.
Danny B 11-30-2005, 10:26 PM I'll have a 1/12 along. I'd prefer to run modified, but i can just practice mod and race 19t
