Heath, the 19 turn class... that's a crapmelion motor? If it is.. I would bet that you will see not a single 19 turn car there.... just a thought.

The motor decision is not set in stone. He just wanted the field to be even without handouts and without any questionable arms.I suggested the ultrabird just for the fact they will be using this at the birds and this could be a good warmup race. But i know he's open to suggestions.

Heath, the 19 turn class... that's a crapmelion motor? If it is.. I would bet that you will see not a single 19 turn car there.... just a thought.

MARK the only problem is going to be, that we all have arcor/roar legal hand wounds. So we have to go buy a motor that we won't be using at any other track. That is always a complaint. To me I don't care either way, but I know others will just stay away because of that.,

THE BAT
11-18-2005, 10:11 AM
They ran the ultrabird at marshalls and most people had one or borrowed one only a few had to buy one.If anybody is running the birds it would be good to have one anyway.I'm with you that i don't care either way.

BOJO,

Barre is going to have the New Years Bash on 7-8 January 2006

Barretown Speedway will be staying open until spring 2006, we have worked out a deal with the owner so, the 3 race series will go on as planned and points have been awarded from the 1st race The Turkey Shootout on the website

www.barrerc.com (http://www.barrerc.com/)

I hope there's enough racers to go to all these races

It's not a big deal I can only think of a couple people that race both tracks. I just hate to miss either race. Both are sweeet tracks.

It's just like Tommy just said, I don't think the 2 races will conflict with each other except for a few people. I said that Barretown was having some problems and that they could be closing, we worked it out with the lanlord or we would be closing.

I think that an ultrabird handout would be a good idea, it would take the speculation away, and they aren't a bad motor, very even from one to another. That I would be game far as they are fast enough so it could be used at other places/races. the chamelion.. that thing I won't touch, simply because they are so inconsistant, the liklyhood of getting a good one vs a bad one... is such a crap shoot that it's not worth it.

Heath, go with the ultrabird, just get a bunch of them in if you do so guys will be able to buy them that don't have them.

Im surprised the 19T class is basically a "spec" class for the regionals?........Why no adjustable timed 19T's..........Atr the nationals 2 years ago We ran adjustable timed 19T's.....why not at a regional......Anyway.....Im in for the stock ....Having more fun in this class........Looking forward to the event
and I know heath will put on a 1st class show

MIKE VALENTINE

Heath is looking for a motor that is easier to tech, with little to no drop in speed. Tech has become a nightmare, with so many different combations of motors being run, and so many legal hybrids, it's next to immpossible to tech motors nowadays. How many tracks have you been to where the motor was teched for weight, length of stack, wire diameter and then unwound and measured for length. Racers what to track to enforce rules but give no advice on how to do it. Most track owners aren't capable of deteching an illegal motor, and the guys that are, have an interest in the race. So for the ease of racing, and having a fun weekend for racer and promoter, the idea of a C2 or ultrabird has come up.

Jason Lambert
11-18-2005, 04:31 PM
I think the ultrabird is fine.. but the C2.. that thing is a really bad idea.

Whatever is done, if a ruling like this is to happen, that's fine, just make it a handout motor... we all know that if you go thru enough of something, you will find a better one, so to really eliminate this, and do what is trying to be done, a handout motor is the way to go.

The $$.. really shouldn't kill the class. I think that the guys that run 19 turn spend enough $ so that the small cost of a handout motor ( esp. if it's one that we can use elsewhere, like an ultrabird ) isn't gonna stop people from coming... I know it doesn't bother me, hell, I'm all for it.

What ever the case, just try to give notice in advance so people can physically get these in there hands before the event, and if they don't read these posts, have plenty of what ever you choose on hand for the skulls who didn't pay attention to these posts and the flyers I'm sure your going to send out..............

Mayhem

The Chameleon 2 IS an ultrabird with a colored endbell to the best of my knowledge, same as the chrome Monstors, pretty much the same motor exept for a lamination for tech purposes.
Finally a track owner that actually posts motor rules before the race, instead the same old crap that happens at every decent 19T event; change the rules around the morning of the race!
Come to think of it, when WAS there a decent 19t event around here?
The motor winders will cry, of course, they stand to make less money, the people with an unfair advantage/motor deal will cry, it takes away thier advantage. Lets stop thinking of ourselves and do whats best for the class to make it grow. As for myself, I will ONLY race 19T if it is a platform based motor, and I bet a lot of guys feel the same way. The Nats at Radical ricks was the best 19T event ever in our area and used the reedy 19T handout. Also had different faces in the winners circle. Why not offer a mod class for the motor deals and the winders to showcase thier stuff? I think this is an excellent decision on Heaths part. Anyone doesn't have a C-2 let me know, I'll let you use one for the weekend.

Mayhem

P.S. Bud, the reedy motors were fixed timing with a notch in the endbell to lock timing at 24 deg.

I am pretty sure that @ a ROAR Regional, the motors have to be ROAR legal......
that would leave OUT the C2 and the Ultrabird, they are hemi rap, are they not??
also they use laydown brushes...

ud21
11-18-2005, 09:41 PM
the roar nast were a open 19t motor. The associated race used the fixed timing motor. I do not like the c-2 motor personally they never seem to run right. They are so different from one to the other, I do not know what the ultrabird is as I have never run one. I just do not like the idea of having to buy a different motor for one race. Just my 2 cents Mike

Hello,

First I want to thank all of you that have posted about the 19T motor. Everyone has been more the considerate with their postings.

I am glad that everyone seems to feel the same. Yes, the 19T class would be enjoyed more if everyone new that the playing field was even.

I do think that the C2 is NOT the motor for this 19T race, so I am exploring other options. I will be finalizing this issue by the end of next week and will post it online.

My intentions are to make this 19T race as fair as possible. I want all the racers that place well in this race to feel confident that their final standings were a result of fair racing.

Please hold tight and I will make the best decision I can for the overall fairness of this 19T class.

Thanks again,

Heath

In an effort to keep all the racers in our region up to date.

Bob for Barretown and I spoke about all this before I announced this race.

I wish there was not a conflict, but I had to put this together on short notice.

Ultimately, I am glad that there is going to be a Regional Race in our region and I hope the turn-out is respectable.

Region 1 is thought to have a strong oval following by the rest of the country so lets show them what we are all about.

See you all soon on the carpet...

Heath.. if you are to do somethign like this, with say the ultrabird.. make it a HANDOUT ultrabird that they get from you when they sign up.. so noone can sit at home and go thru 20 of them before the race. I like the idea of the spec'd motor for the race, but would like it alot more if I knew taht everyone didn't sit at home and go thru a pile of them to find one good one.

The ultrabird meets all roar rules as well, C2 does not.

ud21

I like the idea of a handout motor, all ways have. But if not a handout then just make the ultrabird the motor to run for this race.

whaT ARE roar rules for 19 turn in oval i know road course is fixed timming so you only have the c2, reedy, and the atlas motors to pick from .

ud21
11-19-2005, 11:16 AM
the 19t oval rules are adjustable timing, standup brush, mod teardown. The rules were adopted from the arcor rules.

Ultrabirds would make for excellent racing as well as a good testing session for those planning on going to snowbirds. Make it a 19t handout race with Ultrabirds and end the speculation.
Any thought to 1/12 scale 19t as well. Need to shake down the mini "3" MV edition before the birds.
