Of seeing a series like the JGTC which were well received in collectors circles? The detail on those put them on a level above everything else out as far as racing diecast is concerned.

View Full Version : Any chance.... Fast Eddie 11-08-2005, 12:07 PM Of seeing a series like the JGTC which were well received in collectors circles? Diamond Star 11-08-2005, 09:15 PM As much as I looooove Tuners, the general concensus among diecast companies at the moment seems to be that the trend is "over". But...Tamiya has released the second set of the 1/64 Muscle Machine JGTC series overseas. Same cars as MM was supposed to release but didn't, they're packaged in acrylic boxes and even say "Muscle Machines" on the boxes and chassis. The catch is, I haven't been able to find a website that's not in japanese to order them from yet. I did manage to get my hands on the Skyline tho. http://www.mustangmods.com/data/1592/mmtamiyasky.jpg Dead Dude 11-09-2005, 12:40 AM I'm pretty sure I've seen them on webpages in English, but I can't remember where. Fast Eddie 11-09-2005, 10:20 AM JGTC cars are not tuners(at least not to me). Tomica has been and will continue to do them. Those Tamiyas I have seen on a Hong Kong webshop, they were expensive, plus the shipping can be a little steep too. I guess what you are saying is that for this new company to do the JGTC cars, they are would want to use the casts as tuners also, I agree that the tuner craze has died down. Anyway luv the skyline, nice pic. Here is a website from HK that is in english, I have ordered from them before: http://www.i-modelcar.com/en/ModelCars.asp At 70 HKD that is 9 dollars a car, I wanted those MM, 3.99 is so much easier to pay! Waiting on the Raybrig NSX from Tomica as we type! Diamond Star 11-10-2005, 01:08 AM Thanks a bunch Fast Eddie! I agree, I wish MM had released them here, but I've completely given up on that happening so nothing left to do but pay the $9ea and shipping and just be glad that Tamiya picked up the ball MM dropped. Dead Dude 11-10-2005, 07:04 PM It would be very nice if there was more distribution of these high detail Japanese cars. Would be nice to even pay six, seven even eight dollars per if they were readily available! omega_republik 11-10-2005, 07:09 PM if marketed properly, i'd willingly pay 10$ .... http://www.modelshop-northants.co.uk/images/450/58319-Xanavi-TT01-chassis.jpg http://www.iol.ie/%7Edonohoer/Nissan_Skyline_Nismo_GTR_Pennzoil_front_quarter.jp g http://blog.so-net.ne.jp/_images/blog/fleur-gt/184619.jpg Atencio 11-10-2005, 07:48 PM [left]if marketed properly, i'd willingly pay 10$ .... As would I. I like Detroit muscle but I also like variety especially in the form of JGTC cars.
