I'm looking to build one for tuning my cars.I have a general idea of what I am going to do and what I am going to use to do it.
Curious to see and hear what some of you guys might have done.

This one is kind of primative but still cool:

I found this on your site too Scott:

Some good reading about dynos in that thread.
The pic of the one that Gerry Cullen made looks like something I would like to take a try at.
Im tired of using my ear trying to tune motors.

Hi Mike
I bought one of Gerry Cullan's "Micro Dyno II" units from Slottech.com. It's really helped me in tuning my cars. This one cost about $200.00 (if memory serves me) about a year ago. I run'em on the dyno before I tune'em to get a baseline before tuning. I love mine. HTH.

Larry-
OT, but is your website working or is it my browser? I don't get any pics on the pages.

Hey!
I just remembered I have an old busted-up Playing Mantis Sizzlers car downstairs. Don't most of these dynos use that type of motor as a "generator"? Sounds like I need to start tinkering...

Yep,you're right rick. Those Sizzler motors have the shaft coming out both ends, perfect for a dyno setup like the one in the pic.
