Hey guys, first post here.
We have a Tecumseh generator engine that we have not run in about 10 years, and about a month ago i decided to give it a shot. First, i replaced the fuel lines, the fuel filter, the plug, and gave it an oil change. That didn't do it. It just would not start. So, today i picked up some starting fluid, and that got it to kick over, but it would run until it burned all that fluid, and then it would shut down. When i first started working on it, i took the carb out and inspected it. The float bowl is virtually spotless, and there is not one trace of gum anywhere in that carburator. I know fuel is getting to the carb because if you push the little drain plug in on the bottom of the float bowl, fuel pours out. I'm stumped. Please help me out here, thanks.
