John P 11-04-2005, 09:22 PM You just found this out now?
It's been on my preorder list at DVDPlanet for weeks.
iamweasel 11-05-2005, 01:07 AM I would almost swear they announced the DVD street date even before the movie hit the theaters.
John P 11-05-2005, 10:15 AM And, could they make Summer Glau look any LESS like herself on the cover?
big-dog 11-05-2005, 11:48 AM Agree about the cover art. So bad I wonder if the guy that does the cover art for WASP's CD's did this one. The original poster art would have been so much better. Still, hitting the market before Christmas is a wise move.
Sheesh... What has to be done to get this back on the air! It pi$$es me off! Angel and countless other crap are still getting vomited out, and this gets canned... </End Rant>

It was about 2 weeks after
Judging that the extras went through the BBFC less than a week after release, this has been planned for a long time. I fully believe they intended to pull it no later than mid-November before it got eaten by Potter and the rest

Fox still owns the TV rights, and they're not gonna do anything. Universal owns the movie rights, so our only hope is sequels.
big-dog 11-06-2005, 11:51 AM I really don't think Universal will drop the franchise if the disc does well. No more movies, no more sales. It has been said that the theatrical release of a film is an extended commercial for the DVD or video these days.
Sword of Whedon 11-06-2005, 12:48 PM Fox is forbidden from making another series for 10 years or 3 movies, whichever comes first anyway
Video has always been seen as a make or break for this movie, though a 40-50 million box office would have been nice

There you go again John, making dull assumptions.
Either it is a different story where Book and Walsh don't die or it's a prequel.
I have to wonder if this was something Joss got in return for doing something else.

WTF? :freak:
Carson Dyle 11-07-2005, 02:39 PM If "Firefly" had found a bigger audience...
If "Serenity" hadn't tanked at the box office...
If Joss Whedon wasn't more interested in developing new material and advancing his career as a feature filmmaker... then maybe we'd see a sequel to "Serenity".
In other words, don't hold your breath.
